So as a few of you guys know I've had good success with the first cafe i built so my boss asked me to build him a cafe out of his 883 sportster thats been sitting in his garage untouched for about 2 years or so...

yeah actually the shocks that came with the bike are super low and i needed longer ones, I trimmed the seat to be a little bit higher.

Hi, there!

I'm a newb here, lately I've been spending way too much time lurking on this site.
I'm going through caffeine withdrawals and I've been thinking about a Cafe Spotster too, because I like V-twins and because it would p... off the Sunday Harley riders (which are NOT all HD riders).
In the meanwhile, here's some inspiration for your project.

I look at this thing for about 10min a day, at least. An Ironhead (70-77) sportster cafe is my next project, so help me jesus.

Yup... there are some sweet Harley Cafes out there! ;D

I agree... there's something about taking a H-D and twisting it into something different than the usual chopper clones!

I wonder what they're like to ride? Anyone? ???

I had a friend who owned an 883 sportster with mid-90 GSXR's front end and wheels. He could punish quite a few sportbikes in the really twisty stuff, he had a supertrapp exhaust and some re-jetting. Longer gas-charged shocks in the rear too.
It wasn't really a cafe but it was a blast too ride. I couldn't push it as much as he did but the big torque was fun...
The gearbox was clunky though and shifting was a bear but it could have been poorly designed rearsets.

well there is a guy on another forum i am on that added some clip ons to his nightster... cehck this out

Sorry its been a while but Here it is all painted up nice and pretty, just need to finish up the details like mirrors, turn signals, some molding and finish painting the wheels black.
