HA WOW!!
i have to say.. I am so not a fan of these ol'BMW's.. but this is one kick ass Beemer.. Love it.. the knobbies make it look pretty bad ass.! great job man!
Well I'll try and get some better pictures up soon. I sort of messed up the copper on the tank trying to turn it a little darker. Worked okay on the headlight ring though... I'm thinking of getting the tank panels redone. I've gotten really comfy on the tires only problem now is after about 1700 miles the back one needs replacing soon and the front one looks brand new. Thought about rotating them, but I think I'm going to try some shinko 705 tires. Haven't done much to the bike besides add a copper Saint Christopher's metal my grandmother gave me a year or two ago. I'm not all that religious I just like it a lot.
I asked my Grandma about the Saint Christophers and she goes on to tell me it was on her uncles vincent black shadow... And her mother gave one of great great uncle Willie's vincents to my grandfather in boxes which he did nothing with and the bike was left in my grandmothers house when it was sold.
My grandmother and grandfather had a nasty divorce and seeing the bike was giving to him I shifted my attention to him and gave him a call. My grandparents are from England and have always ridden motorcycle and he has a pretty extensive knowledge of bike so I figured he knew what he had and surely my grandmother was mistaken because my grandfather wouldn't leave dirty penny behind let alone a vincent. He verified the bike was left behind and broke my dreams.
Yes I'll get better picks up soon not much to update besides the copper pitina which I'm starting to like. Other updates include a new bike. Just picked it up sundays ducati streetfighter.
Well I finally found some time to get some pictures ofcourse it's dark and rainy outside so I'm limited to the garage... I want to finish the bike up and then get some good quality pictures of the bike so if anyone around dfw is a photographer hit me up. I'm really liking the copper patina that's coming in so I think I'll leave it. I was going to change tires but I just ordered a new set of pirellis because I like the look so much. Still plan on replacing the exhaust and pulling the motor back out the frame for a full overhaul bigger cyclinders ported heads and replace a lot of the wear parts.
YA DUDE!! Now we're talking.. hahahaha.. thanks for the pic's.. I have to say man, I never took the time to look at these old BMW's.. but your bike has my full-on attention to them now. Looks amazing! I'd be proud to ride that everyday.
