The Dime City "Brass Cafe" - Black, Nickel and Brass- Oh my!

good to see someone else using a grinder the RIGHT way! no shield and shootin' sparks at yer' neighbor!

Whatever it takes to get the shot Sean... ;)

We're making good progress. Can't update the pics in real-time, but there's some cool stuff coming soon. Trust me.. We redesigned the entire drum brake front hub and fabricated/grafted a sweet hand-built aluminum air scoop. It's pretty darn neat!

Dean, the show is "Cafe Racer" which debuts on Discovery channel later this year. More info on both the show and the DCC build can be seen here:

Cool, but now your going to get a TV show on building weird/ cool custom cars in a week, more motorcycles and become too big for us all...

(Can I have a shop autograph when you send me my parts? ;D

HA! Yeah.... I'm pretty sure that isn't gonna happen. The series is about way more than Dime City. We're merely a drop in the bucket.

You know how most groups of friends have the one guy who isn't quite with it...he's a little weird and acts strange around people when he has to much caffeine? Well, we kind think we're that guy for the series! LOL..

Really though, we're stoked. At the end of the day, these guys found us in a garage building bikes because we love it. That'll never change...and DTT will always be the place we found friends when people on a few boards (I won't mention) shunned us because we didn't have the standard cafe seat with clubmans or worse, had a Honda instead of a trumpy or hd.

Do the ton baby... It's the only place to be and where anyone can be someone.

AH-MEN!

break the mold... out side the box... start fresh... bring new light to an old look... teach old dawgs new tricks.... colour over the lines..

however you wana look at it.. do the ton.. do it "your" way.. LOL.

What a fantastic opportunity for you guys. And something for the rest of us to loo.k forward to and share. This could be the start of a shift away from big blinged-out Vee twins dominating the small screen. I sincerely hope so! Do you know if any other builders are involved?

Congrats on the deal, and it looks like your hard work and enthusiasm has paid off in ways you probably would never have imagined.

good luck with it all, and I'll certainly be trying to get my hands on the series, because I doubt we'll get it quickly here in Oz :(

cheers

I love seeing the build pics and can't wait to see the show. Please, Please, Please keep the pictures coming. So far it looks fantastic.

Most excited about this. Also excited about how much the value of both my CB450s will go through the roof once discovery channel exploits our little niche of the motorcycle market a la "west coast choppers" media and marketing frenzy. I'm definitely a huge fan of your little operation and have had to restrain myself from emptying my bank account every time I visit your webpage. damn my education expenses for ruining my fun!

This could be really cool. I just hope that it does not go over the top with the brass.

A nickle black bomber would be cool as hell though.

Too much brass and it wouldn't be very quick at all eh?

Hopefully this takes the Orange County Chopper bad taste out of my mouth

Not too sure what that means..... I was speaking from a styling perspective, I am not a huge fan of brass on this era of bike. They seem to know what they are doing and I am sure they will do a fine job of things.

Too much brass or copper certainly makes it look less quick, but just the right amount... pure sex. Reference one 'Beat the Clock'.

'nuff said!

I went out to take a look yesterday. ;D ;D
Just as I got there power went out (just a coincidence) so, we had time for chat
It's far from mock up stage but from general conversation, it's kinda vintage racer with semi antique overtones.
From what I saw, it's not vintage or even close to 'veteran', more of a stylised 'what would be lying about in the mid 60's if some working class guy wanted to go racing but had to ride to work Monday' that can be adapted to race bike
The general lines are still 'evolving' (until it's welded and painted, anything could change)
It is going to be a semi practical bike (cafe racers ain't long distance cruisers :D)
You'll all have to wait for updated pics, lot going on, being 'under the gun' for TV.
Brass is pretty heavy stuff, to much could look 'Victorian', it aint going that way ;D
