Coast to Coast
First off, this weekend was awesome. Some of the loosest people I've EVER been around, If you are EVER anywhere near another Lowbrow event, get your ass there. ANYWAY YOU CAN. I wish we had more of the W.PA crew there...
We rode in on Friday (It was like 15 miles from my house), about 3pm, and immediately picked a "corner" of the property and set up our camp village. Initially it was just Youngstown dudes, but then about 12 others from Cleveland rolled in, and joined the party. Between all of us from Ytown/Cleveland (All of us old school bmx dudes, or skaters) there were 20/22 dudes in our "Section".
Drinking started immediately, Most of us were working on 100 or so cans of High Life, while some of the older cleve skaters were carrying around a bottle of Jack/some other whiskey.
The lowbrow dudes showed up, set up their camp about 100 feet from ours, but they didn't really have a crazy turnout..I think my whole crew had a bit more people than lowbrow brought..
Time got along, we had hot dogs, more beer, and checked out the practices on the flat track for a bit, THEY ARE FUCKING NUTS. I always thought flat trackking was cool, in pictures, and youtube, but in real life, its the craziest shit I've ever seen in my life. Dudes lay it out dragging foot pegs, foot out, drifting, getting gnarly as fuck.
Alot of the racing was pretty uneventful, (esp. the young kids), The quads were kinda boring too..
Later in the night, all the "mains" started racing, and it was badass, VERY competitive, and fast racing..especially the guys in the "Money class" (Cash payout, no trophy shit). They even have a "street" class, and there was a dude on a fully street legal FatBoy, turn signals and everything...He was shredding the track ALONE in his class (No other street class competitors)..I loved it.. I guess he high sided it later in the night, but was OK.
After all the close racing, we headed back to the camp sites, and already being all pretty loaded, fun ensued... We had a HUGE fire going, and every hour, we'd go into the woods with only a single flashlight to look for wood..This went well, and we eventually found a supply of old 6x6's and stakes used for marking out the MX course... The fire was 6ft high most of the night, all on "borrowed" wood haha
I was told this bike was on the Cover of Easyriders a year or two ago..
After all the racing on the track was done, things started getting SERIOUSLY fucking wild.. We (about 100 people) were hanging out near Lowbrow's pavillion, when the dude with the easy riders bike flew up, jammed up against a picnic table, and burned the fuck out of his tires...He was banging off the redline, and I guess the case build up so much pressure, it BLEW THE OIL CAP about 7ft from the bike, SPRAYING oil EVERYWHERE. I was stoked, His bike was dirty. win/win
That one burn out caused a RIOT. No joke...for the next 4 hours EVERYTHING with an engine and 2/4 wheels was doing burnouts INSIDE THE PAVILLION, I was laughing/screaming/spilling my beer.
Doug's (Beatnic) buddy showed up frying tires..He later destroyed the tranny on his buddys HD, and had to be towed home, haha..ANyone remember this bike from Troys? lol
After that, we went back and helped our buddy get his CB750 fired up and over to the pavillion..He was drunk as a skunk, and fell over TWICE before making it up there..EVERYONE loved when he tipped over, hahaha.. Cheering like crazy..He eveually made it up there, but his clutch wasn't coopering and he pretty much just redlined the 750-four for a few minutes straight lol..Eventually one of the side covers on the case gave up, and he pissed a quart or two of oil EVERYWHERE.
This made for oppurtunity, and a few people came and did and did burnouts IN the spilt oil. This ruled. A quad came, and did a burn out, eventually hooked up, and slammed into a picnic table. I laughed at that for a good 5 minutes.
THEN
Came in the turbo diesel cummins truck, and turbo diesel dodge trucks... Backed into the Pav, spun the turbos and lit em up. ALOT. ALOT ALOT ALOT.
People were losing their minds at this point..
A few guys tried burnouts on bikes, and could not cut the mustard..So our dude Bob brought his CB550 chop over and fired a smokey long burnout up, and won everyones heart..
We eventually all went to bed..about 4 am, A few more burnouts happened when I was in my tent, and someone barfed really close to my tent too, but all in all, I got a few hours of sleep. haha
We did have the chance to ride the flat track/MX course today (Sunday), but being half hung over, cold, wet and dirty..All we wanted to do was go home.. Our buddy Bob however, did shred the course on his cb550, and posted a video.. He rules
