Been Around the Block
Mark Krieger here, in Delaware Ohio, just north of Columbus. I ride a KLX650, about 45,000 on it so far. I also have a Zephyr 550, but the knees are saying "sell it" in spite of how much I like the look. And after 15 years in the process, an SR500 street/tracker that I want to have running by the end of May if not sooner.
I teach in the Olentangy Schools at Liberty Middle School, 7th/8th grade Industrial Technology. I started a sideline caused by the Zephyr needing a cam chain tensioner:
They're on over 600 bikes in 27 countries including most of the 50 U.S. States and Canadian Provinces.
It's been a blast. Kind of funny to think there's some bike in the Czech Republic, Russia, Bulgaria, or Thailand with that sticker on it. I love it.
I've been in Delaware for 5 years, still don't know any riders here with similar interests. Done the bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube, but not much going there for me. Still working on meeting up with some riders. There's a new Zephyr owner in New Albany that I just spoke with. Gave him some tips and we plan to do a run into east Ohio some time this spring.
Anyone else here into anything but cruisers, customs, tourers, and slammed sportbikes feel free to email or pm me to go have a cup of coffee and shoot the breeze, maybe do a ride.
Later...
