Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

Sewed it on with dental floss?

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

It's super strong and waxed...so it's water resistant. I fixed a pair of shoes a few years back with the stuff and the floss outlasted the rest of the shoes by far....and I really beat the shit out of them.

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

hmm.. why didnt i think of that...
cool... i will use dental floss for all of my sewing from now on.
lol.

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

I also suggest spending the $3 on some leather needles as well. The tip is triangluar. It'll slice through without ripping...just a clean hole. The waxed 'thread' also helps to not rip the leather. Just a fyi.

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

oh i didnt know they had special needles for leather.
haha.
okay.
acknowledged.

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

Wish I knew about leather-specific needles...
My thumb was sore as fak from pushing the reg. needle through my patch a thousand times.

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

lol.. i know what u mean... i sewed thru my leather jacket before.. and its a killer...

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

I didn't even have to use a thimble...and my jacket is really thick/crusty

Re: The official "Who wants a DO THE TON patch thread"

Love the switchblade - is it a comb ;) I had a switchblade comb back in the late 70's. Should try to find one, now that I have no hair left to deal with!
