The Start...for now!

So, I am building a custom cafe bike...or maybe it's a sport bike of sorts. Either way, I am using the forks from an R6, but only using the brake on one side. Once I get the front end all mocked up, I will cut the caliper mount off of the right hand side of the forks. I just finished machining a hub that will allow me to use an excel spoked rim with these forks. I have to ship the hub off to Buchanan's to have the spokes made and the rim drilled for the flange width.

I still need to machine a carrier for the rotor to mount to the hub. Anyway, I will continue to post more as the project continues. The motor I will be using is a 01' YZ426 that I bought from a guy off of CL. It needs some work, but should move this bike around pretty quick. Enjoy the pics for now!

holy hell... this one is gonna be goooddddddd

man i wish i had a lathe... i saw a sweet one for a total steal... and i have the money for it... but i have no way of bringing it home without getting my dad involved... and i just know he wont be too happy about me bringing home a lathe xD (yet he gets a wood lathe with a duplicator and countless other tools... fucker :p)

I'm watching this sounds sweet. there are plenty of big bore kits for those engines. Beware they are hand grenades though. keep it up.

Thanks for the kind words guys! My next endevour is to try and create a rear hub for a single sided swingarm...along with an eccentric axle. Been running some calcs to make sure it is going to hold up.

I found a cnc mill the other day that my dad and I are going to pick up this weekend, so I will probably be distracted trying to get that thing up and running. But it should really broaden my capabilities once all set up.
