the winter slump

I make things.
so up in the north here it's been 20 or below for the last month and a half, snowing like a mother father, grey sky as far as the eye can see, kinda hard to even think of motorcycles or riding, anyone got any inspirational ride plans or cool pics and stories from rides they did?

It's pretty miserable in Chicago too. I travel for business occasionally so I try to make the best of it. The latest was a layover in LA

Here's a pic taken by a roadside photographer on Mulholland Hwy in Malibu (near the Rock Store). http://i.imgur.com/2EDtqot.jpg The bike is a rental. I was actually pissing myself because a cager decided to pull a u-turn in front of me a couple seconds before.

I did shoot the shit with a guy on a restored 750 while I was up there. There I was with my fire breathing loaner sportbike green with envy of his CB...imagine that.

I also stopped in Vintage Speed & Cycle in Orange the next day and and chatted with Carpy for awhile, got the tour of the shop, etc.

Not motivational but the roads were clear enough yesterday again so I took advantage.

Spring is near fellow frozen one...........spring is NEAR. I heard birds chirping for the first time in a while yesterday morning as well. Yet another clear sign.

Here's a pic I snapped yesterday. Lake Huron should be frozen for as far as the eye can see at this time of year but, in the last while (especially the last 10/15 years) it's been getting less and less. I'm surprised they even bother shutting most of the shipping season down anymore. Crazy.......
