I'm a record guy too, worked at a shop in Seattle from the mid-80s to the mid-90s, staff music writer at a magazine, DJ, been involved in the industry, etc. got about 10k LPs and 7"s on the same IKEA expedit shelves.

That player is amazing, especially to think of no degradation... but the damn thing is $15k or some shit.
 
You'd think they could find a better, at least cleaner, carb to show pics with. :eek:

That player is amazing, especially to think of no degradation... but the damn thing is $15k or some shit. My digital files almost always come from records that I burned to CDs that I ripped to MP3s and loaded on my phone.

You don't happen to participate in any Facebook listening groups or anything by chance? The shop I worked at is Papa Jazz Columbia, SC. DJ'd at WUSC in the mid to late 90's, made a few contributions and I know a few peeps, too. ;)

I play pretty low key right now. I moved to Boston and am getting a few gigs here and there, and have been travelling for gigs/events too (Austin, Seattle, Phoenix in the last month or so). I worked at Fallout Records in Seattle, and write the music column and features for Thrasher.
