Thinking of selling one of my cb360's...

Been Around the Block
So I am thinking about selling one of my cb360's and use the funds to find a 750 to start as my next project.

But I have no idea how to price it - I live in DFW and the market seems good for these bikes, and there are not many for sale currently, when they do come up for sale in similar condition, they list between 500-3000

The bike (once I finish it this weekend) is a very sound running bike, Everything works well with title.

New Parts: Clubmans, gaskets, plugs, oil & filter, tires, reupholstered seat, etc...
Polished Parts: Engine Covers/cases, Forks, Fenders, every bolt head in sight, etc...
Painted Parts (Epoxy): Frame, Swingarm, etc...
Rebuilt with new o-rings, seals or gaskets: Carbs, Forks
Set Tappets.....etc.

I will throw in all of the original parts to sweeten the deal if the buyer cares...

Please let me know what price is a good starting point.

As a buyer, I don't think I'd pay too much more than $1000 for a CB360, but I've see a few listed on CL right now (in my region) for $2000 or thereabouts.

Weeelllllll, as a buyer, I don't pay more than $1/cc, unless it's in really great condition. But then again, I don't really buy bikes in great condition. If you want to get the most out of it, sell it on ebay. Those idiots will pay way more than it's worth.

aahh the old $1/cc rule - man if that were true, I would be a bike hoarder!
I would pick up old hondas by the truckload.

I agree with you ringo, when I am buying bikes, I look to pay very little, but I usually buy bikes that have been discarded and need a LOT of work. As this one did.

right now, I am thinking that a fair starting price will be around $1500...at least a place to start.

I have a cb360 saved in my ebay account that sold for $3300 that was in overall terrible shape, but I figure that because the seller listed it as a "cafe racer" it ran it up....it had clubmans on it, like mine...maybe ebay is the place for this bike?>.

When selling anything, Ebay is always a good option only because the sheer number of prospective buyers. It doesnt hurt that many of them have more money than sense either. I sold an old chopper headlight to a guy in Norway for $120 once. I dont even know if it worked, the lense was cracked, chrome pitted... I explained all of that in detail with pics and he still dropped the coin, plus $58 in shipping fees.

I bought my CL350 on eBay. I paid $3k for it... because it was in collector's condition. My mechanical skills are pretty limited at the moment... so I wanted a bike that would be ready to run for spring. I will start to customize it slowly.
Where I live, early UJMs are selling for a small fortune. I have seen some real snotters selling for $1500+.(bikes that you guys in the US probably buy for $300).
Even with shipping it is still a decent deal for me.
As a buyer from eBay, I would encourage you to list your bike there. The key to getting a good price is have good photos and lots of them. Don't cheap out in your listing...make the photos viewable in large size. Make sure they are in FOCUS! Have close ups of the detail. Detail=$$$$$

It was a busy 3 day weekend with very little done in the shop...

I really want to get this one done and out the door, as I have lost interest.

right now, I just want to unload it to the next happy builder.

If anyone local (or not) is interested, pm me and we can hash out a deal - I am in the DFW area (N Texas)

Just some quick details, frame painted with epoxy (black), carbs gone thru, tappets set, brakes, tons of general maintenance
the bike runs great, and I have found nothing wrong with the engine...etc.

Things it needs to be completed:
tank was sealed in the past, and will need to be re sealed eventually, exterior original paint in faded but good condition, no dents.
new tires and chain
title transferred (it is in previous owners name, Iowa Title, signed numerous times...

Let me know

For anybody local, I posted this 360 to the Dallas-Fort Worth Craigslist for sale today

https://post.craigslist.org/manage/2952027956/hnapq

I think the asking price $1250 is fair for a clean running bike...we shall see.

I did bust my a$$ last night getting it all buttoned up, that stupid clutch mechanism (connected to the bottom end of the clutch cable) has to be the most ridiculous contraption I have ever seen!!!!

bump...anybody local want this project? price drop to $1000

Personally, although it's in pretty good shape, it is an almost stock 360 with pieces taken off
Are they the original tyres?
Need to at least fit new rubber for that price
Clutch mechanism is fine when you know how to adjust it
You may be better off to put it back stock and sell as a collector item?

How long ago was the Iowa title signed by the PO? Did you ever sign it?

If you had a clear Texas title in your name, I'd snap this puppy up today. My son bought a bike with a Nevada title that was not signed in the correct place by the PO and it was a nightmare getting it titled in Texas. He ended up just getting a bonded title to avoid having to deal with the Nevada DMV and a PO that didn't really care.

After finding that I will need to rebuild the motor on my everyday ride (cb360), I focused the rest of the day in the garage to this cb360 to get her running. All she needed was for me to reinstall the stock pipes and the stock airboxes and she runs like a honda should. I will be getting the new tires this week and I will take the title to the dmv to see what it would take for me to transfer.

After hours and hours of work, the bike looks sharp and would be a good base for someone to build a solid runner from.
