Thomas from Greensboro NC

Honda owner/Honda Rider
Hey there,
Figured I'd quit being rude and introduce myself. Thomas from Greensboro NC. Army Combat Vet, I work in the home repair/remodeling business, husband, father, F Up, and I've been riding Hondas since I was a kid.
I've got a couple of bikes in my care right now.
Project Left4Dead- 1981 Honda GL500. It was an abandoned bike that was left in an apartment building parking lot where it sat for three years after the previous owner moved away. When a friend got the call to haul it away, he just couldn't junk it so he called me. It had been striped of some parts and was in need of some service. It has responded well to everything I've done and is enjoying it's new lease on life. Even if it has to live as a bobbed out, Mad Max, post apocalyptic, thrown together at night in a junkyard to escape the zombies, kind of existence.

The Second bike is quite special to me. 1979 Honda CM400a, Uncle Billy's Bike. It was a gift to me from my Uncle Billy, when I was about 13 years old. He had crashed it and it needed some work. Well it was just fine for me as I rode that thing all over the place. Mostly on trails, not always though. Any how, I rode it right up until I left for the Army, at that time my Brother in law expressed interest and I let him get the bike. He and his son worked on the bike and had it in decent shape. He rode it for a while but parked the bike in 1995 after his son was killed by a drunk driver. He just never could part with the bike.
Recently Uncle Billy passed away, he was a heck of a guy. He was a Viet Nam vet, member of the Disabled Vets Motorcycle Club in Virginia, did Honor Guard for Soldiers funerals, helped vets at the VA office in Salem Virginia get treatments and benefits. He will truly be missed.
A few weeks ago, I was talking to my Brother in law about a CM400t parts bike he had and we talked about Uncle Billy's bike. I told him if he ever wanted to sell to please let me know first. He said he couldn't sell it, but if he ever did he'd let me know. A few days later he called and told me to come get the bike.
So after almost twenty years Uncle Billy's Bike is back in my care.
I'm trying to replace all the bent, broken, and missing parts to get it back road worthy, as a sort of tribute to someone who was very important to me.
So that's me, Honda owner, Honda Rider, dog owner, NRA certified Instructor, Amateur Fisherman, part time demolition man.
I enjoy the site and look forward to following along with all the nice builds going on here.

Not really. I have a bunch of projects that may one day be motorcycles again. Some only after finding new owners. :) But I'm trying.
