Thank you tim....Everyone acts like they were not newbies at some point no help at all just a bunch of childish replies.

Must have been a full moon. At the core of the comments though is the notion that half the fun and loads of the learning is from diving in headfirst and making an attempt to sort things out.

If you have a look at your carbs and throttle and Google some diagrams it will become relatively plain where those bits all have to go. Getting them there is another matter. I'm surprised the cable doesn't have the tiny carb end brass barrels already mounted.

The cable ends are not in the picture. Are they all just cut cable?

MikesXS sells a 2 into 1 mikuni throttle cable all put together which is what I use only my xs.

I cut the throttle end barrel off to shorten the housing and used the screw on barrel that came with my tomaselli super practic b throttle. Same idea as the one you have.

The cable was supplied that way as a generic 2 into 1 to suit almost any twin carb application. If you google "Throttle cable" you will see a myriad of different end fittings and adjusters.

The problem is that most of us don't start modifying cables until way later than motorcycling 101. It's not hard, but it does take some thought and it helps if you have a complete cable to see where the parts go. the old "here's one we made earlier" trick.

When you are ready to make up the cable, start with carbs and bars on the bike and lay out the cables to see if the overall length is OK or if it's too long. At the carb end, the inner cable has to have a long enough length sticking out to fully open the carbs but can't be too long.

When you work out the length, solder the end fitting onto the clean cable end.

Then do the throttle housing end and it's better to use a solder on end fitting but a screw on type sometimes works.

See if you can beg borrow or steal a complete cable and try it with you carbs and it will become obvious what works and what doesn't and armed with that knowledge you can go ahead and either modify the borrowed one or make up the new one.

For my part, I was just fulfilling a long unsatisfied urge to drop trou on the internet, and this seemed like a great opportunity. :)

Once you have the lengths sorted, if you're not comfortable soldering the cable ends on, try looking to a bicycle shop with an old timer on staff.

This cable from MikesXS has the fiddly important bits already attached. If it was me, I'd chalk the DIY cable up to experience, keep it as a spare, and drop $30 on a pre-made cable.

Then you can either run it as-is, or worst case like me, you snip off the throttle-end barrel, cut the housing to the length you want, thread your new throttle barrel onto the cable, make sure it all is the right length for your setup and then cut the excess cable off. (my Photobucket account is overloaded - need to fix it so you can see the pics but this is the link to my project thread from years back)

inner cable passes thru them

the 2 small brass sleeves are to be slid over the inner wire and soldered in place they finish the inner wire and lock into the

throttle slides inside the carbs

the remaining barrel fitting is soldered over the inner wire and goes into your throttle tube at the handle bar

I just bought throttle cable assembled ready to go them cables are old old timer stuff obsolete putting together your own someone was telling me not to reliable

The irony of saying something is to old school to be done on an old bike ?
About as funny as being upset about custom parts needing to be custom installed.

You sure did find the right hobby....
Can't wait to see the pictures parked infront a some urban gratify

Im prob gonna buy the cable from mikes ...was talking to my motorcycle shop today they were saying putting together throttle cables yourself and soldering is a old time method best to buy a cable they were saying instead of risking the made one breaking they said they were never to reliable .

Yes I have a old bike that came out killer and yes i live in the hood i see graffiti everyday im sure you dont. my gas tank is graffiti funny you say that lol.....
but I do have new carbs not old everything can't stay old some things need a upgrade with time.

The thing is, that's how cables are made. It's not an old timer's method, it's how it's done.

I brought up the bicycle shop route as unless you have someone local to you it can be hard to find it as a service.

The cable i posted pictures will work and i want your cable kit so let me know if you change your mind
