Timing Set, now bike won't start

Been Around the Block
Let me start this off by detailing what I did to clear up any confusion:

From purchase almost exactly 1 year ago my CB360 has had trouble idling once warmed up (I need to blip it every couple seconds at idle to keep it alive). I have been trying different things to make the bike a lil more reliable. New spark plugs, new ignition system, cleaning the carbs, synching them properly, adjusting valve clearances...

The latest thing I threw money at was a Hondaman Ignition, which works GREAT, but it was evident that I need to get my timing set 100% perfectly for it to work perfectly too. I purchased a new set of points and swapped out the old ones.

Then I statically timed the bike. Point gaps set to 0.013" -> started with left point and moved entire points plate till the light went on when the LF tick mark hit the stator marker. Moved onto the right side, and adjusted gap till the light went on when the F tick mark hit the stator marker. Everything was in spec...woot? I double and triple checked everything, before, during, and after tightening the screws down and EVERYTHING was looking spot on. I refill the oil, get ready to start the bike, and begin my first (and hopefully only) kick to bring the bike to life....

The bike rumbled to life only after the 25th kick or so and with encouragement from a partially open throttle. What I noticed is this:
1. The bike will die if I don't keep the rev's above 2k rpms
2. Right side exhaust is much hotter than the left, as a result...
3. Right side spark plug is showing signs of a lean mixture (it is somewhat whiteish at the very top of the plug.)

What the hell? ???

Any advice here would be appreciated.

Sidenote:

Before swapping the points, the bike ran pretty good, but not great. Before the swap of points, both spark plugs showed evidence of a slightly rich mixture.

i put a whole new points plate in as part of a general refurbishing of the ignition system (cb350 not 360 but i don't think it makes much difference) and my clymer manual had that same silly sequence for timing in it... i followed the book cuz i don't know shit about ignitions and i only got intermittent firing on the right cylinder. now, if the 360 book reads like the 350 one it says 'set your point gap to .013' (or whatever) repeat with the other set. but this is in conflict with the timing instructions which say set your points to open when the crank is in place for the left side and THEN move the crank to the right side mark and fiddle with the SAME adjustment which is for the point gap?!?!? so here's what i did... and i admit that i also changed the spark plugs so maybe it was that... but i set the left points according to the book, and then i set the right point GAP without even looking at the crank. now the thing starts first kick... this sounds like voodoo but if you're looking for random things to try cuz you've run out of ideas it's worth a shot! good luck!
