Tire mounting.Seating the bead,CB400T comstars and roadriders

Been Around the Block
I am trying to mount some Avon Road-riders on my 78 cb400TII comstars, and having a heck of of time getting the bead centered...

Cleaned the rims,tried dish soap,Windex(as per U-tube),inflated to 45 psi,deflated and re-inflated.

Not the first set of Avons that I have mounted but so -far the most pain

............suggestions .....

I took mine to around 65 psi with some soap to set the bead. one the bead is set adjust the tire pressure. Hope this helps.

Wow .......that seems pretty high.............but I guess if that is what it needs.........I will put my ear plugs and safety glasses on

65 is nothing! having pumped 1 inch tires to 200 psi, everything seems so low... :D

Yep - I'd often have to use the full compressor PSI at the shop to bead stubborn tyres (around 120 / 130PSI). Lots of soap / lube and a lot of air usually gets them seated ;)

70 psi warm sunshine and Patience which I lack sometimes.................. did it ...............thanks guys
