im planning on running a 19" CL350 front drum wheel that i have thats in pretty good shape.
then for the back, im considering running another CB wheel.
what models of CB had an 18" wheel that i could run a 18x4.00" tire on?
None (that I know of) had an 18" wheel that was made for a 4.00 tire. You could squeeze on on though. Just not really recommended. The inline 4s had slightly wider rear wheels. CB500, etc... The 750 had a 16" rear though.
If you want cheap wide rims, get a set of Harley ones.
Bearing swap won't be easy as they are inch sized instead of metric.
I don't know any other way to get wide enough rims without building wheels.
set of rims from Mikes XS is probably cheapest option
As far as I know, nothing that is a direct bolt on will safely accept a 4.00" front tyre
Japanese bikes from early 70's used WM1 or WM2 front rims (except a few Honda's with Comstar wheels)
May be able to find a Suzuki 1000 or Kawasaki 900/1000 spoked front with a wider rim?
Doesn't really matter, CB wheel rims are 1.60" front and 1.85" rear.
Stock XS is 1.85" front rim and either 2.15 or 2.50 rear depending if it's a 'standard' or a 'custom'
( I have some experience with them ;D)
