Hi all, new member here from Scotland.
Inherited my interest in motorcycles from my father (who got it from his fathers bsa) and the norton commando that resided in our living room. Eventually I got a bike of my own when I was six or seven (50cc dirt bike) and a quad bike (which for some reason we thought it would be a great idea to bore out the engine in).
Well I outgrew my quad bike and my dirt bike died when I was ten (tried to take my ribs with it too). Since then the quad bike has been replaced with an argocat (completely rebuilt from the ground up as a summer project) and now seeing as next year I'll be able to go for an a2 license ive been looking back into motorcycles. My father owned a few modern bikes after the commando he rebuilt but none of them have the same imposing charm as the big Brit twin that sat behind the couch. So I've been drawn towards older bikes and I'm currently looking into gs550s or maybe a cb400. So got a bike to learn on in our little plot of land, a faithful gn250.
However I can't resist a project and so I've done my best to get ready for leaving the nice flat fields and maybe venturing into the rougher parts of the estate. With lore shocks, new handlebars, a complete require in progress to replace the mess that was left from its police bike days and later on, dirt tyres. And so, seeing as any future bike project will likely be cafe related. I thought it was time to stop lurking and start posting.
