Oh dear, when I was driving around Paris after a gig our local friend asked how much I had to drink. When I replied that I had three he seemed kinda worried about me being over the limit....

The French are serious drinkers, they actually drink more than the Brits which says it all, around here the workers will be in the bar at 6.30am starting the day with pastis washed down with a beer, a bottle of wine with lunch, a couple more pastis after work and then more wine with dinner. The government is trying to cut down on drunk driving which results in many deaths each year and reduce the amount of people with liver disease, but setting the limit low and introducing breath test kits won't solve the problem, it just alienates sensible people who have a couple of drinks with dinner, while the real drunkards won't take a bit of notice.
