Yeah. Two supercharged first generation hemi's. The black one is a 392 and the pearl white one is a 354. I'll see if I can't dig up some pic's of the cars
+1 for Gord Bush. I use them all the time for my boring/honing and valve jobs and have just recently had the lower cases of my CA95 bead blasted there.
Kind of thing you want done by guys who know engines. Otherwise I've also used Soda Pro in Mississauga for my XS650 engine cases - soda blasted. Came out very nice.
nice! got any go fast parts for a 318 5.2 magnum for sale?
What about sand/course blasting the cases et al, I did a head once and it gives it a machined kind of rough ducati kinda look. Was told it degrades the integrity a bit, plus it holds dirt really well....although I suppose I could clear it?
Anyone sandblasted an entire motor rough with good results ?
Sorry, no parts. I got a brand new cam(392), valve spring set (331) and some other little bits.
Wouldn't recommend sand/ course blasting. Heavy course blasting can cause distortion in parts and will embed in the aluminum, plus the points you already know.
I'd stick with bead or soda blasting. For the best finish possible vapour blasting is the way to go but sadly not popular in Canada (haven't found anyone doing it yet). We do ironically have dry-ice blasting available, but haven't seen anyone use that yet. No media left (melts) which is pretty darn cool.
