Tortrons Honda C95 bucket

Have been plugging away at this, and the morrie, and the new job. So busy busy. Picked up two large halogen lights on stands for a couple of bucks, so can get some work done in the evenings now.

have since built some nice free flowing headders and stripped down and engine (tipped it upside down and a nut fell out of the crank case, wasnt happy any more to just put the barrels back on)

Built this out of stuffed head bolts - to remove the oil pump nut

Wow, Far too long inbetween updates

Have been flat out these last months (and it shows, i look like shit)
Too many hours at work and not enough beer is what im guessing :p

Have just finished rebuilding (cam chain and top end) my gn250, will give it a final clean up today and see if i can sell it

why?

Because i picked this up

gsx600f4.jpg

put an average of 100km on it every day, makes going to work at 5am in the cold air and deserted streets that little more fun.
Is pretty much stock, bar a HID headlight and a few things i have added; Iridium plugs, chain oiler, alarm system and some general tidying up

Other than that, i have been hitting the sheds and seeing what in my pile of crap i dont really need. Turns out alot of it
So have sold quite a few bits eg. donor 175 bike bits, and have wound up with a nice little cash injection which will be finding itself into this project

First up
im going faired

The ns250R fairing is very similar to what i sketched up for the fairings for this project (may need to cut and shut, will be sure once i get it next week)

no pretty lame update, but expect to see a bit more work coming soon

I think your on to something. Throw the fairing out, paint the welding mask up to look like metal/brass/rivets, and you have a nice steampunk fairing to match the finish on the frame ::) ::) ::)

very 'sky captain and the world of tomorrow' ;)

oh trust me
That fairing wont look anything like that at all

The shed was actually tidy before i started looking for things to prop that up with ;)

I really like the look of that. do you have the bottom piece, I guess it's was the part that wrapped around the bottom of the engine? If not I'd be tempted to round it out a little bit, that bike has a lot of curves to it and the flat bottom is kinda jarring.

My plan exactly, I think the whole thing should "fit" better when theres an engine plugging that gap too

I'm digging the fairing. I used to not like them and I still don't plan on putting one on mt cb100, but I love how it flows with the frame and fender.

Have run out of gas in my welder, so have just tacked a few bits together
Cleaned up the front springs (though you wont ever see them) and a couple of other bits

Once i finish off the welds and tidy a couple of bits up i will take some photos of the completed carb housings and frame mods

Have been thinking about the tank, the body lines and the riding position.
Then i saw this

and this

and i liked what i saw

I realise this topic is almost 2 years old but thought I would comment on the 1st picture.
The child in the background is 37.5 yards away and is having problems with the noise.
This is what happens when one injects NitoMethane into a C95 Honda then rev it to 13500rpm. ;D
Time stamp, Oct 1971, Elvington England.

Second picture, same old boots in 1993. ;D

Hey Guy...
Like your use of the c95 (Honda)!!!
I Built a semi chopper that can use Yamaha, Suzuki or Honda Engines. I had started out using what I had and building a frame to look closer to Harley style. I started with Yamaha Belle Y80 engine. When I started I was showing how to use freewheels and pedals to make petrol powered Bicycle (Motorcycle) No license was required. Then after a year I decided I needed rear shocks :)so I cut the ridged frame away and added a complete NSR150 rear end (Honda) this included disc brakes. At this time I was looking for a Honda C95 Engine to use (still have not found!) I had a bored Suzuki RC110 that was close to 128cc +/- some that had electric start option. I installed it (Still in Bike) but I was still using a 2T engine and a little bit of smoke didn't look right in a Softtail look...

I will add some pictures of the look now, I have the whole set from start to present.

I wanted to ask... You say you are using or want to use a 175cc (2 Cylinder Honda) engine... What bike is it from?? So I can add to my list of searches if I continue to have negative results looking for a C95.

I have plenty of room and dual Carbs would fit nice! I also plan to run exhaust (both tubes) down right side of Bike (increase size of tubes to 2.5/3.0" ID just past first bend in original tubes (so I can make a clamp/connection) This way I can adjust and remove with ease, if needed. If 175 can use oil cooler I have room to add on frame downtubes also.

I have plenty of Power with the RC110 (Suzuki)... Bad Charging system is wrong. Bike can idle and run around town at lower RPM then original Suzuki Crystal. It was built to run in town in the mid 3000 rpm range. I csn do this now (with gearing) at 1900-2500 rpm. I have been able to retain 2T collector and stinger but to mellow out exhaust sound I used the can from the Yamaha, cut one end off it and opened the hole at opposite end to about 2". This can slides right over Suzuki's and when I found the tone that was ok (semi ok :) ) welded it in place. I went from the stock Suzuki RC110 Exhaust to Suzuki's 250cc Tube size changed from O.S. 1.0"/I.S. .75" to now O.S. 1.55"/I.S. 1.25". Rejetting and increase oil mix ratio to get proper plug burn... I was set! But Low Rider still had a Castrol/Benzine visible odor/visible cloud about it.

I am all enthused about the possibility of finding a 175cc engine.... How you or someone else reads this to help! Oh... I am in Thailand, I live in Chiang Mai (retired) not that far from New Zealand...Pic 100_1863 is good shot of Yamaha Belle with fake Exhaust 2 tube... Top is fake working as an expansion chamber exhaust down through then bad up into bottom tube which has 1/2" exit at end. also shows bicycle pedals and 3 freewheels being used. 1 on left side to connect to engine and transfer power to right. Pedals were used as foot rests and if engine stopped... just start pedaling... no need to find neutral! Had lights to see when what gear in 3 speed semiauto.

Picture 100_2133 is pretty much the look now without the gauges. Complete Suzuki front end (with disc Brake) Forks 6" extension, 18x3" tire. Rear tire is 17/120/80 on a 1.85w rim (I am looking for a 36hx17"x3.5-4.0" steel chrome rim.

I like what you are doing and would like to share thoughts...

David
