Coast to Coast
Show me your favorite tracker handlebars, preferably with pictures.

I find lots of awesome looking bars, but can't identify them.

I apologize.

I'd very much like if you fine gentleman (and women) may be able to provide me with information on so called "tracker" handlebars, as I am a bit confused with all the diversity of pull-back and rise.

I see lots of very attractive bars that I am unable to identify, so if you can name the handlebar in your pictures, that would be much appreciated.

Thank you, and good day.

My renthal street lows feel great and give an awesome tracker look, and they're very readily available almost anywhere.

thank god someone else asked the question all I get in reply is usually "whatever feels good" I'm diggin the 2nd pair jordan posted too bad their 1' only :[

I have been shopping for a set, too.

Went with the Dime City set because they were cheap and I still need to experiment with the ergos of the bike. Moderate pullback, rise, and width.

I typically like pretty wide bars (in my vastly limited experience) so I might try one of these someday, too.

http://omarsdtr.com/bars.html --these look pretty cool, but I dunno if the serious pullback would be good for me.
http://www.mikesxs.net/products-58.html#products - these look even cooler-slightly less pullback, really wide.

Big fan of the Rental bars but I went these bars from Z1enterprises which look identical to the ones Biltwell sells.

At $14 bucks your really can't go wrong. Here's a shot of them on my KZ750.

A couple things of note here... The main differences between "cheap" and expensive bars are wall thickness, material, and coating. The "cheap" bars are thinner walled, usually made from inexpensive mild steel, and the coatings (especially the black bars) are crap. Youre 100% guranteed to scratch them up. The expensive bars are made from higher grade material (sometimes aluminum, sometimes stainless, etc... Depends on the maker.), have a thicker wall, and the coatings are usually tough as nails. When using the expensive, thicker walled bars, often the bar end mirrors we all love arent useable. I have broken or bent "cheap" bars in the past, much more easily than I expected. Not to say you cant or shouldnt use them, but you get what you pay for. Handlebars are up there with tires when it comes to your safety when on the road. Cheap material, and weak welds are a recipie for disaster.

Duly noted. I have a pair of not cheap handle bars that I bought that I'll compare them to when they get here. I was thinking of welding a cross bar to them anyway. Maybe that's a good idea for reasons besides styling.

Okay, so I ordered these on Wednesday, and got them today. VERY fast shipping.

The wall thickness of these bars is the same as both the OE bars and the clubmans I bought last year (and never used.) The finish did chip a little bit when I threw a wrench at it (swear to god.) But then again... I threw a damn wrench at it. What I like about it though is that the finish looks to be pretty thick (the chip didn't go down to bare metal) and they also masked out the end of the bar on the right hand side so that there's no powder over there. Should be pretty easy to get a throttle grip on it. The clubmans didn't show up like that, and they cost twice as much.

I can't comment on the quality of the steel, because I don't know what was used. There's a big MADE IN CHINA on the label though... so it's probably softer than US steel. Probably not that much different than the steel coming out of Japan in the 70s though.

Resurrection! Figured I'd add to the thread which was most likely to yield search results rather than start a new one.

I am going to replace the Daytona bars I had (Bikemaster, I think) with the Emgo "Wide Magna." Not on the bike yet but they're awesomely shaped...nice and wide, reasonably swept-back but not overly so. About 6" of sweep, IIRC, on the spec. $25. Fit the tracker ergos/aesthetic to a "t".

I also noticed the Naked and Flat Track options in the LSL bars: http://www.spieglerusa.com/controls/handlebars.html (In aluminum and steel, colors available).

And the "Barracuda" bars 'bout halfway down on this link look cool, too: http://vft.org/vftforsale2Products.html
