Transmission Oil Seal Install. Help?

Treesus

Probably not sane.
Ok. I know this is probably a very elementary question that screams to the fact I really don't know what I am doing. I would be embarrassed if I had any dignity to protect.

When you install your engine oil seals do you put them in dry, soaked in oil, a thin layer of liquid gasket like you do on the case halves, or some pipe dope? Or something else?
(ex. the oil seal from the transmission leading out of the case to the sprocket on a CB360)

I like mine to retain it's O.G. flavor
But i think you will be fine if you soak the seal in some oil

I don't oil mine when I rebuilt my engine (CB350). I did add a little three bond to help seal (probably not needed). Haven't had a single drop of oil leak from the engine...been over a year now.

I used threebond on mine, too. Also, you do need to separate the cases for that seal, just to clarify.
