not too shabby huh?

Sean does nice work. It was expensive, but that's how it is when you want alloy tanks and seats.

3 hours in the cold.....work until you start freezing and you start getting mad...then stop! ;D

Anyhow, mounted up the shocks. They are 14.5 inches long, and here you can see the length difference between them and the stocker:

Because these are made for a CB900, they come with a bunch of different sized grommits, and washers. As you can see, I had to use the washers to sop up some gap in the clevis mount...otherwise I am happy with this mod

Here are a couple of pics to show how they look, and how the bike has a real lean when on the kickstand now...the center stand works, but the rear tire is on the ground! :D I am going to ditch the center stand, to save some weight anyway, but just FYI.

While taking pics...thought I'd show another engine prep progress pic

Oh....started install on my RAASK rearsets. Not done with both sides yet, as I got cold...anyway, here are a few pics.

Oh...P.S. These RAASK rearsets make it so you lose the kick start. No biggie for me, as I am a fan of electric start, but just FYI for any of you thinking about them, and live for kick starting your bike.

Yeah, thanks Sean, I might have to look into that!

it's all good for 2-2.5 hours, then becomes bad, by 3 hours, it becomes unbearable!

get the two burner if yo go that route. If it were me one of those reddy heater is the way to go cause they have the fan. They are a little more expensive but they work so much better. You'll be out there not because you have stuff to do but because its warmer. Bike looks good. Keep it up.

that and a light so I could close the door...that would be a God send... ;)

Have to get a small generator for lighting and power tool use...no heat or power in the garage...ah..the joys of military life...being ready to move or deploy with little notice :(

Thanks,

~Joe

I saw those reddy heaters with the fan at a liquidation store recently for $99. Is that a good deal? should I go buy one?

My tank and seat arrived.

Impressions:

It is artwork. It is not perfectly straight....it has bumps and warps that are visible enough to let you know that it was hand formed and beat into shape.....it is polished, not chromed, and you can see that it is a polished surface. On the seat, the upholstery is on an aluminum frame that attaches to the bum stop via velcro.

Both the tank and seat are featherlight....unbelieveable how light is really is. The tank is EASILY 1/2 the weight of a stock steel tank.

Tank holds 3 gallons. Upholstery is black vinyl with a matte finish. Tank has a very thin layer of protectant for the usage of pump gas...hope it is enough...time will tell. You see through it...has a transparent gray look

Arrived well wrapped, and is in perfect condition.

Overall, I am a happy and satisfied customer! ;)

nice to see they got there in good shape! would love to see how they look on the bike, but I'm sure we'll see soon enough. on the sealer, that's pretty much overkill, 3003 alloy is corrosion resistant, but I like to go a little extra and protect it from any additives in modern gas
