Trying to get forks out, help? 71 CL350

Ok I am almost 100% I have got everything done to take them out? Any help or hints?

Remove the top triple clamp and the headlight ears - I'll bet you've got a metric tonne of rust on those fork uppers.


Stick a flat blade screwdriver into the bottom fork clamp flange and pry it apart (gently).

Ok, I was gonna put the bolts that when in the top in a little and smack them with a rubber mallet. Is that even safe? haha.

If there's any rust at all on those forks you'll need to pry the lower clamps apart to allow the forks to slide out.


Do it gently. Don't hit them with a hammer.


Take off the top triple and the headlight ears and you'll see what I mean.

Yea I'm not going to any more haha. Any chance you know the size of the nut on the triple tree?

Nope. It's metric, though.... 8)
