let's talk shop
i've been looking a while now and they seem very over priced but i also dont want a shitty one that will fall apart? not looking to get rich but if i can do some carbs for my buddies and a few on CL and make some money it's worth it.

let me know what ya got!

I have a Harbor Freight Ultrasonic cleaner, and it has worked flawlessly for me. I worked for a racing engine builder for a while, and they had a $15,000 ultrasonic cleaner that did the same job as the $80.00 HF cleaner. I did some research before purchasing the HF model, and the next comparable unit was around $400.00. Before plopping anything in it, I clean my carbs with Pine-Sol first. Use distilled water, the results are awesome.

HF, as they say you get what you pay for, have you checked eBay? Or sometimes you can walk into a jewelry store and ask them if they a have a spare they would like sell.

The $80 is not bad, but I would invest in a better one if you are going to be charging people to clean their carbs.

I use one of these power supplies:

the same company also sells small pots (about 60oz) that plug directly into this unit. They are on ebay frequently, but I dont see any at the moment. You cannot buy directly from the manufacture unless you are a medical institution.

Because of the size of the pots, I pulled the transducers out of two of them and put them on a stainless steel food service container that will accomidate a large rack of carbs.

I see those powersupplies with pots often around $50-$75, mine was from ebay and $40 shipped with two pots...

This setup requires a no foam cleaner and a good set of earplugs.

When I have more time, I will make up un immersion transducer. They are the shit, for large items.

I have 3 ultrasonic cleaners all different sizes and they are fantastic. I found them on craigslist for around 40.00 - 200.00 keep an eye open for one and grab it when you can.
