Unique No Title Issue

So I've gone over this site and a myriad of others regarding not having a title for a bike in PA. Yes, dreaded and difficult PA. I'm currently considering going the Vermont route HOWEVER, the bike is titled in PA so that means I could never transfer it from VT to PA, right? It is not listed as stolen, no liens and I tried, without success to contact the person it was titled to. I used Facebook, PeopleSearch (even paid for a search), the DMV (VIN lookup) and no success in reaching him. The registration ran out over 3 years ago and the bike has been turned into a Cafe. Any thoughts on getting this legal in PA. The VT thing only seems like a temp fix and I'm not sure I could get it inspected/insured properly if it's setup that way. :-\

i would call your DMV and ask for the investigation unit and ask them to come and do a vin check on the frame first. I would ask them what you can or should do after that

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE IN MICHIGAN? My understanding is they only require a notarized receipt. sell it to someone in Mich get title sell it back. Someone posted it on here a while back and said thats what they did. But they had to go to the Mich highway patrol to verify it wasnt stolen if it was they seize it. Search this site for Michigan title. Good Luck.

I already had the DMV print out a vehicle record abstract where it was listed as not stolen and no liens.

Or try a custom build??? Ask the BMV about if you put a junkyard bike together. How do custom builders do it? Like dime city when they go to a yard and buy a junk bike how do they do it. Dealers have to have a way to do it.

I'm facing a similar situation. As stated I feel like there would be an issue when I bring a Vermont registration in to my DMV and try to trade it for a title when the bike had been titled on my state previously. I found that its-titles.com does a titling service for a reasonable price. They will get you plates and a title from your state
They quoted me $250 for a 75 cb200. So yeah that might be more than what you're looking to spend but they do it legally and right the first time.

Oh and the previous comments talked about a custom build title but the insurance on those is outrageous as far as I've seen

From what I've read it seem ITS has gone down hill in recent years and/or can not provide decent titles. Let me know how your situation turns out though.

will do ! there are also several other companies that do the same thing ITS does like best title solution. I haven't had a chance to call them back yet for a quote but they gave me a call a couple days ago. Maybe someone like them will be cheaper
