UPDATE IV: A New Hope - 1972 CB350 parts; clutch, forks, frame remains

620dark

You can always get it running with time or money.
Hi folks,

I have a 1972 CB350 frame with a clean Ohio title, along with a disassembled CB350 motor, and lots of other miscellaneous parts. I'll have them up for sale at the June 30th Ypsi Michigan Ton Up show in the swap meet area. Look for the bright blue Dodge pickup, along with a yellow Nighthawk 650 and black Nighthawk 550 for sale.

PM me if you're interested and can't be at the show - I really don't want to ship the big stuff. I can help get stuff transported to you in the greater Metro Detroit / Ann Arbor area.

Re: 1972 CB350 titled frame, motor, ect + 2 Nighthawks - at Ypsi, MI Ton Up June 30

Here are some bad pictures of the two Nighthawks we have for sale. The flat black one is a 550 that runs great, the yellow one is a 650 that also runs great, plus has a 4->1 exhaust.

Re: 1972 CB350 titled frame, motor, ect + 2 Nighthawks - at Ypsi, MI Ton Up June 30

Bumping hoping to see you folks on Saturday! Someone take these parts and bikes off my hands and start a thread to share with us how awesome you make them!

Re: UPDATED WITH WHAT IS LEFT: 1972 CB350 parts; motor, wheels, forks, etc.

Hi folks,

I had a pretty good day at the Ton Up festival - got to meet a bunch of neat people and sold a bunch of parts. We were the only people there selling bike parts and not T-shirts so we had a captive audience :) The frame sold to a guy who builds ground up restorations and likes to start with a titled frame, so it will ride again :)

Here's what's left:

The motor, minus the camshaft, rockers, and camshaft end cap boxes. I'm de-greasing the various bits now, and they look to be in very good shape. I'll open up the bottom end of the motor and get some pictures of the innards. So far, it looks in good shape, so I'm hoping I can help get someone's bike back on the road. I also have a stator cover / stator, though there are several breaks in the wiring to the stator. If you can solder, you can have a working stator for cheap.

The front and rear fenders. The chrome has some rust speckles, but I think it could be brought back to life pretty easily.

The forks. The tubes are very corroded, but the lowers are in good shape. The fork tubes move up and down smoothly. I also have headlight mounting ears and fork covers, all in red.

Front and rear wheels; the front wheel has a smooth working drum brake assembly and speedometer cable. The rear wheel does not have the brakes, just the drum. The rims and spokes are rusty, but the tubes/tires are holding air. Depending on what you want, I can break down these wheels to the hubs or whatever you want.

There is a bunch of miscellaneous parts as well; there is a rough center stand (pivot tube is cut), and two kind of rough kickstand / foot peg assemblies. Also, I have handlebars with the kill switch, two air filter assemblies, and some bolts and screws.

I am in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but am also in Oakland County pretty often. I'll work with you to get parts to you if you are local, but also will ship parts out too. Let me help you get your bike back on the road!

Re: UPDATED WITH WHAT IS LEFT: 1972 CB350 parts; motor, wheels, forks, etc.

Cylinder head is gone; I'll be digging into the bottom end as soon as I can get the &*%$ing oil filter housing nut off. Let me know what you need!

Re: UPDATED WITH WHAT IS LEFT: 1972 CB350 parts; motor, wheels, forks, etc.

Bottom end looks good! The shift forks have no visible wear on them, and everything moves very smoothly. The cases are in great shape, and so is the kickstart assembly.

Someone buy this stuff! :)

do you have the clutch actuator thing with the metal balls plate?

Re: UPDATED WITH WHAT IS LEFT: 1972 CB350 parts; motor, wheels, forks, etc.

Sadly, no, that's the only part of the clutch I don't have. I've got the rest of it, however.

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

The titled frame is available again - the guy who was going to buy it flaked and can't get the money together or something like that. We had agreed upon $300.

I'm in Michigan, and spend time in Ann Arbor and Rochester. The bottom end of the motor is apart so you can inspect the pristine crank and trans.

Someone make a bike out of these parts!

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

Did I mention the bottom end is in great shape? No wear on the gears, the shift forks are great, the crank and rods are great, the kickstart (which is the later CB360 style - apparently there was a running update to the later CB350s) is great.

I have the clutch basket and all its bits available, the oil pump, the magnet rotor, handlebars, stock air filters, fork tubes, pegs and their cross bar, and so on! Feel free to offend me, and I will ship the smaller parts. USPS flat rate boxes are a great thing :)

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

Any shot you got some triple trees

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

Sadly, no :( I might have built the darn thing if I did have them :)

I do have handlebars and headlight ears and fork tubes plus lots of motor parts - is there anything else you are looking for?

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

what style fork tubes are they? the screw cap up top or the reg slide in tubes

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

I will have to look at them again - I'll post up some pictures as I'm not sure of what kind they are.

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

The forks have the hex head screw in top:

I hope that's what you are looking for! :)

UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

You said you have a kick starter?

Open to offers?

I'll give you $10 for it.

Do you have an electronic starter motor as well?

Re: UPDATE 2: Electric boogaloo - 1972 CB350 parts; the frame's available again

I have the kick start mechanism in the case of the motor, not the actual kick start lever itself. Is that what you are looking for? I do have the electric starter motor and its gears and chain, conveniently removed.

Shipping will be dear to Australia - I'm seeing quotes of $40-$60 for a 5 lb package...

Re: UPDATE 3: Revenge of the Sith - 1972 CB350 parts; motor's gone, frame remains

The bottom end of the motor is gone as is the right hand handle bar controls. I still have the bores plus pistons, clutch assembly, oil pump, stator and stator cover, charging rotor, wheels, forks, and bars.

I also still have the titled frame available. Everything is best offer - let me help you put your ride back on the road! :D

UPDATE 3: Revenge of the Sith - 1972 CB350 parts; motor's gone, frame remains

How much for the front fender?
