Upholstery questions!

I've never made a seat before, but my biggest concern is the actual seat. I don't know how people get the padding and leather done. Any help?

Done as in where do they take it or how to do it yourself?

I most often see people buy a foam block, trim it to their desire, and use spray or brushed on adhesive to make the leather or vinyl stick the foam. The material is just cut with scissors. Usually the leave it clamped on in the corners/folds overnight from what I've seen.

How do they get the seat to stay on the bike? Especially if the make the rear fairing themselves

I button snap my covers on. Give you a place to keep your papers (under the foam), and gives you an easy way to actually bolt your seat down, with easy access to the cap screws.
