Well I put a couple of pics in my intro thread, so I guess I will keep a bit of a pic library here of how things are progressing.
I had some alloy rolled and made a rear seat. Then I stumbled on a Hayabusa USD front end on ebay that was too cheap to ignore. So now I am trying to make it all into a cafe that appeals to me, and I hope others can see the look and style of bike I am aiming at.

Here is the rough seat I am welding up.

Mounted the headlight , some flashers and now working on a suitable front guard.

Here is the alloy guard that I will use,, now just to make some mounting brackets.

looks good man. ive been wanting to do a v twin cafe for a while, and threw some big ass inverted forks on my current ride. what motor/frame is that?
 
Starting to get the boring stuff sorted out now, like all of this under seat Spaghetti... The only good part is that Honda seem to add plenty of length to the wiring loom allowing some components to to situated where I want them without hours of wire soldering extensions!!

rotors look insane, man. I wish they didnt obscure the wheel so much, but at least they look great while theyre doing it.


that alum guard is great too. a nice contrast to the plastic painted ones you see on stock sport bikes.
 
Mate, the rotors are a chinese Stainless steel 420 (2Cr13) and Aluminum alloy 6061, CNC milled, they seem to be the best value for money I could find on the net without spending hundreds of dollars more these cost me under $200 landed in Aust.
 
Awesome! May I ask where you got that trim to put around your undertail? Been looking for that stuff for a long time...
 
Was the busa front end difficult to adapt stem work etc. The rad is from what?
that bike had two smaller side mount rads.

I know you asked the OP, but I thought I'd throw my $0.02 in since Ive adapted 3 front ends this past year and theyre pretty simple. So long as the stem is long enough to come out the top of the steering neck all you have to do is put conversion bearings in. conversion bearings have the correct OD of the neck with the correct ID for the new stem going into it. check allballsracing.com for those, they have a massive list of what front ends will fit on what bikes.
