So after spending a little time in SE Asia and riding some scooters n smaller-engined bikes, I fell in love. I've always been a car guy cause my dad forbid me from even looking at motorcycles because he was a paramedic and has seen some nasty stuff. I'm a little older now so after messing around with cars for 8 years or so it's time for me to step up to the world on two wheels.

I'm decently mechanically, so I picked up a $200 72 CB350F as I wanted to start on a smaller bike but still wanted to be able to go ok on the highway (hence the 4cylinder). I'm not a huge fan of the look of four pipes coming out the front, but I'll get over it.

Here's a pic of the bike when I first got it:

And how it sits now:

So far I've got all the standard maintenance stuff (brake pads, cables, removed and cleaned carbs, battery etc...) and just ordered some new tires yesterday. Clip ons came in and are awaiting the rust removal on my front forks. 4into1 Mac exhaust and some other little things here and there. I'm hoping to have this thing looking and running the way I want for about $1200. Although I like the look of rearsets and clip-ons with the hump/cafe seat, I'm going more for a brat, ie clip-ons and super-thin seat. I need to have this running by the end of April, so stay tuned!

Here's a pic of my current drift car, 89 Toyota Cressida w/ a 2.5L twin-turbo 5spd swapped in.

Old old car, but I love this pic haha. Some random person took it and posted it to a local forum. That car was really low and pretty loud so the cops didn't like it (they took it off the road 3 times, ah to be young and reckless with money again...)

Thanks guys.

So it's been about two years since I purchased the bike, but I haven't really posted anything on the build. I got the bike running early last year and rode it around as much as I could. I love my 350F, it's a great bike but it had a tired engine that leaked and burned quite a bit of oil. That being said, I rev'd the piss out of it all the time and the little Honda stood up well to my abuse.

But it's time to tear it down and start afresh to get all of the wrinkles out and turn this thing into something I can live with for man years to come. I've always liked the look of beefier front suspension on these old bikes so I went ahead and found some R1 inverted shocks and triple tree for cheap off of craigslist. I also sourced a CB400F engine in Portland and made the drive down to grab it from a member of SOHC forums and purchased a 466cc kit from ebay. Since I'm an Ebay whore, I also made an impulse purchase of a 2009 R6 swingarm because it was $35 shipped, and I really like the look of these newer style monstrosities they call swingarms. Now I'm in the expensive part of the build where I have to get the frame modified to fit the swingarm and purcahse new rims/spokes and custome sprockets to adapt to the 5.5" rear wheel I'll be using. Just thought I'd give an update on the progress, I'll post more pics as things come together. Thanks for reading guys.

Bike last year:

Welcome Goblin - although you've probably been here longer than me. Good to see another BC biker.
