hi I am not new to jetting, but I have never worked with a mikuni bs34. I am planning an open exhaust and velocity stack on a yamaha Sr 250 project. can anyone suggest a jetting setup? Thanks for any help
Fit a decent muffler in whatever shape you want and a decent filter and the changes will be a lot less drastic. Bikes do not run well on open pipes and BS carbs are difficult to tune at the best of times.
Either K&N or Uni are good filters. I tend to go with the longest one I can get away with so it breathes better and has more filter area.
thanks for that. i run stacks on all my bikes and i do understand the mechanics behind it. i was just curious as I have never worked with these carbs before and i would rather ask someone than do a million chops and tinker on it for a whole day.
so, does anyone know which jetting setup will work running a velocity stack on a bs34 carb?
In my experience of XS650, Uni's have less issues on BS carbs than K&N
short open pipe, no idea on jetting, longer pipe will work better
I don't run any of my bikes without some sort of muffler, less chance of tickets
thanks for the responses guys. if anyone is currently running a velocity stack on mikuni 34's could they please chime in as to what jets they're running.
