VERY possible project 1980 GS850 G...need help!!!!

Hi all,
I have a lead on a 1980 Suzuki GS850G. I am getting the bike for next to nothing, and it is needing a ton of work. I NEED a resource for performance parts.

I see that Honda and Yamaha both have resources for after market cranks, heads, valves, bottom ends, top ends...etc. Where can I lay my hands on a performance engine rebuild "kit" for this bike?

As far as performance goes, might wanna ask over at www.thegsresources.com. That's their specialty (obviously). Or you can wait for Boingk, CrazyPJ, and some others on here.

Boingk actually has a build thread on a GS850 - maybe search for it?

I've got an 82 850g, and love it. Even when it gives me problems, it's still running and a blast to ride. I've had numerous people comment that the 850, with it's sport touring style, and shaft drive, make it the perfect all arounder. I've done alot of custom work to mine, so let me know if you have any questions regarding your vision or ideas of what you wanna do.

Thanks Guys....It is a toss up now between this bike and a CB750 (also getting for next to nothing) Thinking the Suzi is the way I might tend to roll though as it is pretty much complete. Will def need a tear down and rebuild. I will keep yall posted.
