Am I right? wasn't Ben in Fifth and tried to shift toward the end?

Either that, or he was looking for another gear and didn't have it.

Is it possible he fanned the clutch to get the r's up? Or maybe he looked for the magic gear.

This is great! Showing Zeke how to do trigonometry! Math matters!

it's not quite the same percentage, but for small angles it is the same ;)
two math teachers that I know now have a real world example to show their kids because of your post. DTT is entering academia ;)

The angle for the 96mph run was 9.23 and the angle for the 99mph was 8.51.
We took the video frame by frame until the the gun registered. Using the measuring tool on google maps we able to place Bryan and counting the fence posts we were able to approximate where Victoria was. The distance from Bryan to the right angle of travel was 60' and from that point 400' for the 99mph run and 350' for the 96mph run.

Mom figured the arc tangent of 60/400
If you divide the gun speed by the cosine of the angle= we can do better

Tex,
Regarding the cam gear drive photos, do you mean CR72 and not CB72, which had a cam chain? Or, are they photos of the 125cc CR93 production road racer?
Neat photos, whatever they are...

that is a good question didn't the cr72 have a dohc? This looks to be sohc? I originally posted cr72 then edited to cb72...

I don't know the cb77/72 well but it Looks like that stack of cogs is too high and if it's been cut down so the top gear is the cam gear wouldn't the cams be running backward?

That is a CB72 with custom cam gear drive. Very cool. I have a VFR750 cam drive I was planning on adapting but the gear assembly is too large plus it needs extra gears. Custom is the way to go.

And that's what all there motors need to control valve timing at high revs. Or they need decent cam chain guides and tensioners.
