This is the 2nd year of trying this and i am really hoping to get more vintage bikes out and on the track than last year .
I am also trying to get a good swapmeet on the go also .
There are 4 groups from slow to fast , 15 bikes per group .
You can sign up for one day or two it is your choice .
I would really love to see some of those caferacers out there , my ambition is to turn this into all vintage and have no modern bikes atall but it takes time and support from all of the vintage bike community .

Hope to hear from some of you guys soon .

Great idea, believe it or not, I was thinking about seeing if anyone here did track days. I'd love to give it a go, I wont be ready to ride in may unfortunately, but I'd like to go to the swap meet and check out some bikes on the track. I picked up a project T500 for vintage track days...its next on the list of things to get done.

Hope this goes well and gets bigger every year, sounds like a blast.

There was some confusion last year whether you needed to be CVMG member for the track day or not. Please confirm you do not need to be a CVMG member to participate in the track day. Also, many vintage bike riders are not familiar with track days so if you could post the general rules and safety requirements involved. I'm hoping to attend.

GREAT IDEA!!!!!! Needs to be advertised more! Put it on the VRRA board, and KIJIJI. There are many vintage bikes sitting around, not being ridden because of all the insurance bullshit. This will give the owners of those bikes a chance to get out and ride them!!! All you need to do is remove, or tape the lights and mirrors, meet the sound requirements, put on some leathers, and ride!!!!! Afraid of putting your pride and joy on the track, and running the crap out of her? No need to!! Enter the novice group, and just take it easy. Riding on the track is way safer than on the roads! I may just be there!

To answer your first question no you do not have to be a cvmg member it is open to all riders .

The day is made up of 4 groups of riders with 15 bikes in each group and 15 minutes per session so you get on the track for aprox 7/8 laps every hour .
The groups range from slow to fast , groups 1 and 2 are the slower groups
which are ideal for street bikes not set up as track bikes , or begginer riders , or the rider who just wants to circulate the track at normal road speeds .
The bikes should have the lights taped iol plug siliconed over and mirrors removed if possible and if the bike is water cooled the rad fluid should be removed and deionized water put in .
Riding gear can be either leather or balistic nylon with armour , leather boots and gloves and a full face helmet , sorry no jeans .
In these groups passing is only allowed on the straights , your speed is what you feel comfertable doing .

Groups 3 and 4 are the faster groups , most of the bikes in these groups are either race bikes or large displacement street bikes , all the tapeing rules apply here also .
Riding gear in these groups are leather either a one peice or two peice thar zips together , leather boots gloves and full face helmet .
Passing in these groups is done on the straights and exit of corners only for safety reasons .

I hope this helps , we do have modern bikes come out to this event but i am trying to make it all vintage but that does take time so please if you come to watch or ride dont let that put you off it will happen and i can garauntee if you come out to ride you will love it and be bitten by the bug , i was .

Thankyou all

What an awsome weekend if i do say so myself definaitley worth checking out next time round it is only going to get bigger .
