Was bored lastnight so I made a real working gun. P90 inside*

Fear My Twin

Chicks hate my bike.
I hate to look like the gun nut American here but someone has to do it :-X

I was bored lastnight and was staring at a old $30 p90 airsoft gun I had from when I was in HS. Well it occured to me that I had just recieved a coupon for $20 off of a Marlin 795 .22 rifle from Cabelas in the mail and I knew that Marlin also had a $25 mail in rebate special this week. Soooooooo, and hour later I had a brand new semi-auto .22 rifle with 10 round clip for $55 : )

Ran right home and got to work. Took the action out of the Marlin and compaired it to the size of the p90. Perfect fit!

I then began trimming and measuring. Then once all of the p90 internals were gutted I used a piece of 1/8th copper bar to bend up a trigger actuator. Once that was done I made cuts in the p90 body for the charging handle and the mag release. The p90 safety even still engages!

Voila! What do you guys think?

Fully funcitioning 1:1 scale, real weight, .22 caliber P90 for $85. Best part is that it only costs $18 for 550 rounds : )

My younger brother taking her for a test drive at the range.

100% legal length and ATF approved.

Thats wild dude!! Great idea and good work. Hilarious and scary that you bought a gun for $55. But you cant beat a $85 p90 replica!! Cool beans.

bob.

^ Do all of you PA guys travel in packs? Lol Im from Allentown and just posted up in the PA roll call.

The mags insert from the bottom up right below the charging port. You cant really see from the pics. That was the point. No one at the range can tell the difference when I pull up, unzip my bag, and pull out a full sized P90. I love seeing the jaws drop!

Anyone up for a shooting range trip?

Aside form the fact a .22 would cost several hundred dollars here, that would get you thrown in gaol here for quite a long time!

Why? It is just a .22, to my knowledge a .22 is still legal in Canada, am I right?

But very cool man, I love the idea, I might just have to try something like this myself someday.

You, sir, are aspirational!

Awesome creation, and yeah....over here you might be given a tough time for doing that hahaha. Then again, wouldn't know until you tried!

Very, very cool - boingk

PS: It still accurate? What MOA we talking here?

It would look like from one to ten years behind bars...

Not saying I dont like it and wouldent want one myself, Just a shame we cant do it here... (End of that, don't need another fire arms/ gun control) thread...

Wow. Not what I was expecting to see at all. Good work! And like Boingk said, what's the MOA?

This is basicaly just a custom stock on a 10-22. If the base rifle is legal, it should be legal.

I have no idea how the law works up north but the general rule of thumb here is that firearms must all be registered according to their serial number. IE: Since the gun was purchased as a rifle and is registered as so it must meet the minimum length requirements for a rifle. In other words, If I were to buy a Draco AK-47 pistol that is registered as such its a huge no-no to put a rifle stock on it because it would then be classified as a rifle and change what it was originally registered as.

Its fairly accurate out to about 50 yards with no scope or any sort of sights. Not exactly sure of the minute of angle on her. Only went through about 50 rounds. I need to put a scope on it because I couldn't accurately aim her, theres no way to look down the barrel and the scope rail is scary flimsy. Maybe a laser and pressure switch is in order. The groups were all within 2 inches at 50 yards which I thought was fantastic for being what it is.

A quick search of ebay resulted in some other airsoft frames which I am thinking about attempting this with in the future. AK-47's, M240's, AUG's, Bull-pups, etc. All for under $30.

2" at 50 yards? Thats 4 MoA, pretty awesome considering you've got no sights on it!

If the shells are out there, try getting an MP5 base and then you could easily mount a scope to it. Hell, you could even just put peep sights on it.

Shooting from a benchmount? Hmm, might wanna glass-bed the action into the stock then. My brother uses automotive fibre-reinforced filler compound and works a treat.
