Welding on my bike: need to disconnect electrics?

I just want to make sure I won't fry my rectifier/regulator etc. Anyone know?

disconnect ground from battery.

shouldnt have to do anything else, but im anal about things and would take the whole harness off if its easy enough.

Oh it's easy to remove! Got the whole thing so cleaned up. Made a new harness running like 12 wires. Cake.

haha, then you might as well! that way if you end up shortingg out by accident your stuff is protected.

Disconnect the battery - DEFINATELY.

I also disconnect the Ignitor or CDI (depending on the bike). It's only a plug or 2 so why wouldn't you??

It's always a good practice to disconnect the battery when ever you are doing work to the bike. Not always neccessary but why take chances.

So, whatcha welding?
