Well, huh... I just might be a dumb-ass.

I have a soft spot for that ole Yamading ding dinger... this should be good to watch unfold.

Happy Happy Happy boy ahead!

RD

Do you also have some old parts kicking around? From the looks of it, I might need a new tank, seat, and carb and... ;D

I have a carb off my Ts185. You are welcome to that, it is a Vm26. The slide has some slight scratches.

Hey phxtoad, got an email from the shirt guy today, he says they're done sewing and will start printing on Monday. Means they should be on their way to me soon. By the way, I added you to the map: http://www.killmancustoms.com/t-shirt-a-palooza.html

Would you mind shooting me an email to confirm your Zip code?

I didn't realize how much there could be to this kind of thing, going to be glad when they get here. ;D

Hi David,

I like boats, too, but they're coming to me via DHL which usually means air. I kinda like that map, it's growin' on me.

I actually saw your post pop up as I was sending an email to increase the order size. Gotta have some left over to actually sell so that I might just maybe someday break even cash-wise on this whole shebang! ;D

I manufacture in China and have for 13 years to the tune of millions of dollars spent... next time you want T-shirts done let me see if I can negotiate through my friends in Beijing... should not be more than $2ea for Hanes and another $2 max for print work, the 14-30 day boat ride is never more than a dollar a unit or per lb of electronics so cant imagine a few boxes of shirts can be much.

Oh Tune-A-Fish where have you been for the last few months? lol

It's been a freakin' nightmare trying to get this all put together. It's one thing to order parts and product internationally, but everyone wants huge orders to do a production run, (300 MOQ) you wouldn't believe some of the convo's I've had with potential suppliers.

Then again, sounds like you would...

You have to get three suppliers bidding against each other, they are faced with the same argument for acquiring materials... the more you buy the cheaper it gets, so typically they will take a PO for say 1000 units build/make 1500 and offer you a deal on the 500 extra... this is 10 X in my case but it happens more than not. For T-shirts I would have my friends son who is "Business Man on training" hit up the small local shops and give him a commission for each shirt. It's less about the money for him, if he can make a few US sales the government will fund him.

1000+ units at US $5 per, is substantially more than my little wallet can swing. Not to mention, I'd have to cram my little attic and use them for insulation. My break-even is 73 shirts, so far I've sold 25, that's about 0.5% of the folks that voted.

By the time I'm finished doling out for prize money, currency exchange, duty at customs, finance fees on payments recieved and transferred to my actual bank account, and just plain climbing-up-my-assery, it's been a serious challenge keeping the price below CAN $25. Not a damn thing I can do about CPS's BS shipping costs on my end to send them out, either.

Got a few vendors kickin' dust at each other, so got the price down a bit, but my small purchasing power isn't impressing anyone. Managed to scrape up a bit of bucks to get some extras for shows and the online store, but I don't have a brick and mortar, and I haven't tackled the wonderful world of SEO yet, so large numbers aren't a reality just yet.

But, they are a custom product and I've learned a shit-tonne gettin' it done, and I'm pretty tickled with what's comin', so no crying in the beer on my end. Lotta folks don't get to do what I do nowadays.
Although I did just get done doing my Brother-In-Laws taxes again, with a 2125 to boot. Coulda done without that particular dose of yech in my day, gotta figure a more forceful way to say, "NO" this year.

Understood... Not complaining about price, only cost. All and All the project is for a good cause... Onward!!

It's all good Tune-A, I didn't catch any negative vibes at all, just talking shop ;D

With any luck, I'll be picking up the DT125 at the end of the month as well, should be interesting...

All right, all right, all right!

Sorry for the long wait gentlemen, but the shirts are finally here, they're totally awesome, and they are going out today!
Things got a little heated for a bit there, and I wanted to wait to post until I knew whether or not I was gonna get burned and have to refund everyone, or source shirts from someone else. My apologies if I stressed anyone out.

I've got a blog post up, with pictures of the actual shirts, on the website if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.killmancustoms.com/blog

No bullshit, these things are seriously nice. I'm still pissed about the wait, but considering the quality and the fact that I can still keep my prices low, I guess it was worth it. Sure would've liked to have choked that f@#ker a couple of times, though ::)

I also picked up a project and a donor bike for young Isaac, a DT125 and a DT175, both donated by an instructor at one of the local riding schools here. They're a few steps beyond rough, but they're a start, and I've already cleared them with the lad's folks. I'll put up some pics and needs/wants as soon as I can. The 125 is the one I posted pics of before.

I would take it as a boon and a blessing if you guys sent me pics of you in the shirts for the Show & Shine page. Whenever I'm having a shitty day, I look at the pics and it just plain makes me feel good, be nice to put some faces to the names too.

Seriously, thanks for the patience gents, I know it took a while.

Just lay low for a day or two ::) Should be okay after my smoother checks in and I let her know you made good hahaha... Cool Beans man! No sweat off my ass!!

Dammit Desmo, just shot milk out my nose ;D

You guys are awesome, thanks!

The shirts went out last night, so they should be coming in over the next couple of weeks, depending on customs. Dropped off the shirts for the boy's family last night, it was great, the whole family lined up like the Who's from Whoville, grinning like crazy wearing their shirts. His folks are justifiably proud. Poured beer down our throats until midnight, it was a really nice time, felt pretty good to make that kind of positive impact on people.
I'll be dropping off the shirts for the family of the University student that did up the Tiger design tonight. Should be a repeat performance. Kid got one for his girlfriend, nice to see that he's proud of it, it's his first commissioned work. It's nice to be like motorcycle Santa Claus. ;)
