What are my cafe bump seat options for a DOHC cb750?

Been Around the Block
I'm looking to pick up a cafe seat soon & wanted to know what my options are (if any) lol. I would prefer not to do too much hacking b/c I would still like to be able to use the stock seat for occasional 2-up riding. I'd like to keep it cheap and store-bought (under $200). I don't have any fiberglass molding experience and would rather not have one custom made. Does anyone have experience with the Airtech cb75021m seat? They say it's for the Dohc but would I need to use a stock seat pan? I was hoping to mount directly to the frame rails with rubber shims where needed.
If this isn't doable w/o some major fabbing & eliminating my use for the oem seat, thats fine. If thats the case, I'd like to do a Brat-style 2-up seat. Does anyone have ideas for that? I wouldn't mind cutting & welding if that's my only option & my hopes and dreams for the cafe bump seat are dead.

It's a great bike but I really hate the look of the oem seat. Sometimes I wish I went w/a Sohc. You guys got it made in the shade! 8)

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!

-Eric

Edit: I really don't care for the look of Carpy's Rocket Four cafe seat but if it's my only option, I'd consider it.

Thanks for the suggestions! Dano, I really dig that seat but that price is a wallet-slayer! I'll have to do some thinkin'...

One of the larger RocCity seats will fit with a little work. You won't need your old seat pan but will need to drill and tap the frame for the front mount and use the stock mounting brackets and mounting holesin the frame. I attached the brackets with machine screws then glassed them in for more support.
Sorry, but I can't comment on how well they last, mine is only a few weeks old.

I'm bumping this b/c I'm going to buy something within the next week & just wanted any last minute advice/ ideas.

A couple I have found:

Roc City is always a good bet, I got a front fender from them for my 81 CB750K and it is top-notch craftsmanship.

Not all of them say "dohc specific," your best bet is to measure the frame where you want to mount the seat pan and go from there. Just about any cafe bump seat will require drilling and tapping the frame, but I don't see why you couldn't leave your stock seat mounts in place. I remember seeing a cafe style seat that was long enough to carry a passenger, I'll see if I can find it again....

I wanted to post an update. Benjie is building me a 2 seater cafe seat (removable cowl). Wait is a few weeks but hope to have it sometime mid-Aug. I'm a little nervous b/c I don't know exactly how it will look. He's never made one for a DOHC cb750. On the plus side, I'll have a one of a kind seat. On the neg side, the cost $$$. I understand that cafe bikes (and seats) are built, not bought. In my defense, I have no fabbing/welding skills and no garage at the moment. I'm fairly certain I can complete everything else with my own 2 hands & handtools though.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will post pics upon arrival for sure!

i was looking at the 2 seater setup with the tank, im interested in the carbon fiber. $1600 will definately break the bank though.. how much did he charge, i also have a DOHC cb750.

$620... Which is about 2/3 of what I paid for the entire bike. LOL. Half due upfront and the rest upon completion. I don't know if that includes shipping but I think it does. I wanted to do a solo seat but my daughter made me promise I'd keep it a 2 seater so she could go on rides w/me.

No new pics yet. Still in the process of putting it all back together. I'll try to get some pics soon.
