What brand of paint stripper?

I need to strip what appears to be at least 2 colors of paint off my cut off gas tank bum stop for my new seat. What brand or type of paint stripper do you guys use. I've hammered out several dents and there's chips all over the place so getting the stripper under the paint should be no problem. ;)

Aircraft stripper. Any auto parts store in the paint section. Get the brush on gel, not the spray. Both work great but the gel works better.

you can also use Circa 1850 Heavy Body paint and varnish remover. It's a gel as well. You can find it at Home Depot in the paint section. The only way to go is gel.

Sorry about the french, came from Homedepot canada website. Talk about stereotyping. LOL

Cool, thanks guys. I have to go to the hardware store and the auto parts store this w/e anyway so it sounds like I'll be picking up some stripper this weekend. ;D

Would this be safe to use on a assembled engine as long as you keep it away from the gasket points? The motor in my F is running and I want to strip the crappy paint off of it but don't really want to have to tear it down

Yup... Be very careful not to get it on and rubber or plastic. AND DO NOT LET IT DRY ON THE ALUMINUM!!!!! Put it on, let it work, get it off.

the home depot stuff called "Rock Miracle" works great... on everything but the brake caliper paint.

That shit is stuck on there like anything....

ill have to try aircraft grade stuff...

They make special stripper for plastic and that stuff works on anything and it is safe. You can get it at a auto paint supply store or on ebay that is your best bet.

I definitely second that. Aircraft stripper works great. Will even get primer off. I suggest buying a good sized jug. I've used the spray on bicycles a lot. Just spray/brush it on, let it sit for 10 - 15 minutes or so, wipe it off with a rag. Most of it comes off with one application and wiping.
