WHAT DO YA THINK

Sure, anyone can join. But I wouldn't call an FZ-1 a cafe racer. Or a ZRX1200, Honda 599, Bandit. They are naked sport-tourers or standards.

What about a BMW R1200S, it's air-cooled at least?

Thanks Doc, I wasn't fishing for a compliment, but I'll take it. ;D Some BMW purists consider the R1200S to be the cafe racer of the lineup due to the fact that it's technically not a sport tourer.

I think that if someone took an old cb or xs and built a similar style bike with that awsome tech, they would call it a Cafe. so why not that BMW?, my 2

I think what you do with the bike as well as its look define what it is. I lean more towards the use over its static form. I blitz about on my sr500 with a 1/4 fairing and clubmans, short runs through the twisties, favorite back roads, and such make it a cafe bike. I have never run a closed course from the "Cafe" and back before a song on the juke box ended so I am not realy a cafe racer, I like the look and the riding position of cafe bikes and I believe the r11s is a cafe.

I wouldn't call it (or any modern bike) cafe, but who cares what I think. haha.

If he likes cafe bikes, tell him to sign up... we'll try our best to convince him to get an older standard bike and make it faster.
;D
