Been Around the Block
so i have this dohc cb750 i aquired for basically nothing , im thinking about selling it to buy a sohc 750. the bike runs good and with some work it would make a cool cafe but the thing i dont like about it is the physical size of the bike it just seems big and cumbersome , and the sohc are just a better looking bike all around , I also really like the cb500 i had , i think it was just about perfect size, power and looks . should it stay or should it go
 
I ride a great big 1100 inline 4, so I'm the wrong guy to ask. :)
 
you know ,actually me to , i loved my last 500 four , i dont even know why i sold it . oh i forgot to mention , i would be better off making a trade for another bike instead of selling , if i had cash in my hand right now , id probably pay off a credit card and do sometihing responsible with the money but if i trade i still have next to no money involved which somehow makes me feel less guilty
 
i would go for the 500 as well.. that was the bike i learned on, wish i still had it
 
I'm not a huge guy, so I'd probably prefer the 500. Just go with your instinct man!

Find yourself a 500 roller and transplant the dohc750 into it.

Let the purists and collectors wail...I love it....but the dohc for all it's lack of aftermarket bumhumpery is a better engine in every way to the sohc lumps. Keeping in mind that these aren't collector bikes unless that are 10/10ths....and even then only artificially collectible.
 
500 four for me. just a stronger engine and better bike overall IMHO.
