As a lot know you know the " DTT Thaw GTG " is next weekend (WOOT) !!! But if you been reading the main thread everyone is scrambleing to get there bikes done or fixed . Im in the boat with the I need to get my bike fixed . I need to get my clutch working on my FJ to ride down and it was fine till a week ago . So I find myself doing this or that to fix it and was freaking out lol but after reading the thread everyday I see the boat is bigger then I thought
Well just thought i would throw this up for a place to rant about what we are doing to make it to a GTG !!!
Be it fixing a clutch or a leak or finding spare parts or just packing the bike up for a road trip ..........
And to all that's going to the Thaw be safe and see you there ;D ;D ;D
For me its rabidly waiting on a new front brake seal so mine won't have to piss fluid everywhere and get more added at every stop... I mean, yeah old bikes leak, but its a honda, can't have it leaking like a harley :
Got the 750 purring last night only to come across an odd lean condition. As I suspected 3 of the 4 carb handlers a leaking and unfixable. A put a call out to some of my 750 peeps and my friend Neil thinks he might have a set for me. I hope so because I really want to ride a bike a built at this thing. If it doesn't work out I'll be on a Hawk GT it looks like. I could take my trusty old 350 Cafe but it's seen the last 3 GTG's and I wanted to bring something different.
I know what you mean... I really wanted to have my 77 ready for this gtg, but it hasn't changed status much since the last one. Oh well, my 75 still runs good, leaky brakes or not
Worked on bleeding the clutch for last 3 days ,rebuild the clutch slave that didn't work. So moved onto the master ,had to called a friend and he had one he just pulled off a honda . So the Yamaha has a Honda master on it ( wonder if I should make a build thread lol ) worked on it all night and nothing . Called friend back for some help and he just happened to have a mightyvac ! Five min after he got here was fixed and ready to roll Friday morning HELL YEA !!!!!!!!!

I struggled to replaced my clutch this weekend and due to "Mothers Day" I wasn't able to finish this up until today. Now I'm in a scramble to get it broke in a bit and fully adjusted before the Thaw. I know of our Indy group 2/3 bikes going aren't running at there fullest that I feel lucky to only have a clutch adjustment yet nervous that my buddies are in a struggle to get ready due to various issues. It's always been this way too. I've been doing shows and events for year in the VW world and always been that way, just second nature I guess. I don't even think about it anymore, it's just part of prep...sometimes last minute prep is to put the engine back in the night before haha. I've had a few of those nights.
Well, the weekend was a wash due to an unexpected funeral and mom's day. I was able to at least fix the leaky intakes I believe. Now the ancient rubber on the airbox is giving me shit. Hopefully I can sort that out tonight and shake this bad boy down. If not at least I have the CB-1 (or maybe by friday the Hawk GT) and my CB350, so I'm not bike less. Just really wanted to debut the 750. Feels a little more DTT when I'm on a bike that I poured 100's of hours and a couple ounces of blood into.
