I found this stuff in the shed and I'm wanting to use it on the lip of my gas tank. I have no idea what it is called or where to get it. Is it an automotive product?

McMaster Carr. Cant remember the exact name. You can also.buy SIMILAR trim at auto parts stores.

Yeah it's door trim for around the sides of car doors. Auto zone should have some

The stuff he has there isn't car door trim. Much heavier duty stuff. We use it at work when running wires over sharp edges.

You right. Looking closer it's much thicker and more heavy duty

Windlace ... usually available by the foot in a variety of colors from auto restoration vendors.

As was pointed out, that isn't door edge trim, but it is similar. Look at what they have at your local auto parts chain store. On this bike, I used chrome door edge trim, and it was awesome. Looked really great with the chrome trim that was part of the seat.

that is a sexy CX right there, ADC...

Agreed. Love the CX! But yeah, this stuff has great grip, it doesn't look like it's decayed at all, it bends at 90* and makes the lip of my tank look a bit more finished. My tank will be painted a dark grey so I think this stuff will look pretty good.
