"garbage plates" and unemployment...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garbage_plate

they say about rochester: where it's hard to get laid and easy to get laid off

A really bad smell caused by 2 soy bean processing plants and an unemployment and murder rate higher then most cities.

Awww... C'mon Jfish... Sure theres the Steelers, and Primantis, but nowadays, were movin on up...
Voted most livable city a couple times, estimated to be the greenest city in America by 2020, terrific universities (PITT, Carnegie Mellon, etc...), a huge film industry. There filming a Russel Crow flick, and an Anne Hathaway movie here as we speak, not to mention Adventureland, Wonderboys (filmed in my town of Beaver), and many more. Also the home of some of the most advance medical facilities in the world, and a large number of tech, and video game developers. Its the home of Dan Rooney, whos family not only has owned the Steelers since the teams first season (1933) but is now the U.S. ambassador to Ireland. The Pens are here, we have a killer Zoo, and the Carnegie museums are some of the best in the world. Birthplace of Andy Warhol, F. Murry Abraham, jazz guitarist George Benson, actress Julie Benz, Goddamn Charles Bronson, Ted Cassidy (Lurch on the Aadams family), Perry Como, composer Steven Foster, Jeff Goldblum, Charels Grodin, photog Teenie Harris, Michael Keaton, Henry Mancini, singer and STD collector Brett Michaels, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, Tom "sex machine" Savini, Gertrude Stein, playwrite August Wilson, MLB pitcher John Burkett (from Beaver High School, GO BOBCATS...), Joe Namath, Ken Griffey Sr, and Jr, Pistol Pete Marovich, Charlie Batch, Bill Cowher, Mike Ditka, Lou Holtz, Jim Kelly, Ty Law, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Nick Saban, Arnold Palmer, Branden Jesserman (formeer supercross world champ), Johnny Weissmuller (the orig tarzan, and olympic gold medalist), Adm R. Peary (first man at the North Pole), Eric Buell, Billy Mays (RIP), the Boy Scouts, and so on. Than theres the fact that were the originators of the "Mr Yuk" sticker, and the emoticon were all so fond of here, the Big Mac, the First public TV station, the Polio Vaccicne, the Zippo lighter, Bingo, the first radio station, the first gas station, daylight savings time, the worlds first baseball stadium, the first movie theater, farris wheel, and the banana split. Theres more than 720 bridges within the city limits, and of course the two most important people in Pittsburgh history, Donnie Iris, and Mr.Rodgers...

God I love this city.... ;D

Old things - St. John's claims to be the oldest city in North America, have the oldest street and the oldest annual sporting event. Also, the place of the first transatlantic wireless message.

Other than that also know for fog, rain and snow  To quote: "St John's is the cloudiest (only 1,497 hours of sunshine a year), snowiest (359 cm; 11.8 ft), windiest (24.3 km/h average speed) and has the most wet days per year" of all Canadian cities.

Dallas: Oil, telecommunications, plastic tits and MotoFiaccone :) And heat; way too hot here. It really is a good place to raise one's family, though.

Pittsburgh... you just made me even sadder thinking that i will never probably live in Pittsburgh. It is my all time favorite city. I live in Detroit. We are known for cars, murder, ridiculous mayors and city government, poverty, homeless people, littering, obesity, laziness, unintelligent corruption, unemployment, and a myriad of other horrible and despicable things. I can not wait to leave. I love Pittsburgh. Did I mention that?

C'mon down! Theres plenty of room here for ya! Housing prices are 40% lower than the national average, and Buisness Magazine recently wrote that our local economy is "recession-proof". Right now our job growth is 4x the national average. Just pack it up and head down. Just be sure to avoid Cleveland on your way... :D

We're known for the civil rights movment that I fear will never be won in most peoples eyes. We are also known for corruption in elected officials, and steel production. Also self imposed poverty and unemployment, a (dis)respectively high murder rate, and bad health.

To counter this though, we have one of the most advanced and groundbreaking hospital and medical systems in the united states. That's why that is my industry of choice. I live in the country outskirts though and tend to stay away from the city on off days.

Ladies and gents, this is Birmingham Alabama

We have a pro football team "Georgia Bulldogs." Most of the residents are poor, jobless, and most families live below the poverty line. The only good jobs are with the university but there again, most employees make below the poverty line and get shit for benefits. Crime is crazy. Boyfriends find brutal ways to off their girlfriends.

Then there are the students:

Dumbass suburban guys from metro Atlanta pretending to be "country" who put all their trust fun $$ into their big ass pickup trucks and their Guy Harvey t shirt collection. The only time they don't have a beer in their hand is when they're holding a dick in their hand. They spit at cyclists and call us "poor hippies." They plow over bikers with their trucks but never go to jail because "Dad has a lawyer friend."

Mindless, tanned, and plastic girls who suck dick on Friday, loose their voice cursing the other team on Saturday, and never miss church on Sunday. When they're not at Starbucks studying they are text driving and side swiping cyclists. They never go to jail because "Daddy has a lawyer friend."

These few pics and you'll know mine and no doubt what it's best know for :)

Just in case Internationally it's best know for the bridge, the opera house and it's beaches. Locally best know for the traffic and the tolls on the roads to get in and out.

Cheers
Steve
