hey guys ive come to the point where i need to replace the coils on my suzuki gsx250 1981. but there is no resistance reading on the coils? in the manual it says that the primary reading should be betwen 3.5 and 4.5 Ohms and secondary between 23k - 25k ohms. but when i have been looking online for new coils they dont have a range, onlyone resistance reading. which coils should i be getting? 3.5? 4.5? 4?
i have heard dynatek are good but also pricey. i live in sydney australia also. thanks for any feedback. i have learned a lot on this forum. elliot.

Hey pegs, If your manual dictates 3-5 Ohms on the primary side, then you can get anything between that range. I'd try to stick with the lower to middle of the road ratings, mainly 3 or 4 ohm coils. Most retailers will list the resistance specs on their website/catalogue.

Hope this helps.

The number you are worried about is the primary coil resistance, don't worry about the secondary. If the manual says 3.5 to 4.5 ohms i'd stay in that range closer to the low end, but without going under. A 3 ohm coil is going to pull more current then a 3.5 ohm coil and you might burn something up;the higher you go the less current it pulls through the ignition and the less electrical energy gets to your spark plugs.
