I would pay $400 for a nice seat like that. Just to get a seat upholstered might cost you $150-$200. $400 for that seat might be priced $50 dollars more than it should be. But sometimes it pays to invest in some nice quality stuff. Like that seat.

i was afraid that might be the answer. I might go with it, I'm just worried the seat, which is meant for an sr400 wont fit my cb350 well.

hmm, yeah i would feel iffy about that too. The best thing to do is check the return policy. Because the bike's frame and original seat pan are different and may not fit right. As long as you can return it you got nothing to lose.

Visit your local scrap yard, find a flat / tracker style seat from a 70s era honda or something. Strip down to base-pan, shape, mod, pad and send to an upholsterer. Cheapest way to do it, IMO

2nd the above, find a pan or make one, then find an upholstery shop locally (i got some south of the border dudes to do mine) and it cost all of $120 for the upholstery. Good luck!

Well, go to Lowes or HomeDepot.

Buy a sheet of 14 gauge steel. ($20 or so)

Cut it to shape.

Buy a garden kneeling mat from Lowes or HomeDepot as well. ($5-10 maybe)

Cut it to shape, and use some 600 grit sandpaper to shape.

Buy a yard or two of black marine vinyl from the fabric store (or EBay) (Maybe $15)

Take all of this to a local upholstery shop with a few pics of the seat above and ask how much it would be to have a cover made. (Anywhere from $50-$100 if you find a nice shop whos not trying to rape anybody on price.)

OR...

Ask around. I bet someone you know owns and is proficient with a sewing machine.

Or................................... break out the hook needle, and plant your self in front of a good long documenrty, and get busy.

All hand sewn on my couch by me for $10 or less...

wow, thanks for all of the responses. Would a cheap angle grinder be sufficient to cut/shape that steel?
