What shocks???

Been lurkin around and searching, but can't seem to find a decent anwser to rear shocks. Forgive the newb question, but what shocks are these?

I'm lookin for a short set for my CX500 build that I'm gonna do. Was gonna build links, but leaning towards having rear shorty shocks.

They're called external reservoir shocks. Ohlins is the first name that comes to mind. They are the sexiness.

The KYB units on the Kaw ZRX1000 are pretty sweet. Bet they cost a pretty penny, though.

A good (and relatively cheap) option is to get your standard units rebuilt. Talk to the fellows about what you want out of them and they should be able to set them up for you. Lot cheaper than a really good set of shocks, although rebuilding something over 20 years old may be a bit dodgy if its a very worn, high-milage example.

If in doubt I would simply recommend an aftermarket unit. Good brands include Koni, Ohlins and to a lesser extent Sachs (good, but not outstanding).

Most of those shocks cost more of my bike! Nice though.

Yeah, but I can't find a decent place to buy Olins by spec.


I've looked at a few Fox, Olins, Elka, iShock, and even eBay shocks.. Problem is that none of them seem to be listed by size...
