What you get with $600.00 and a hacksaw

Shame about that, there are several 'good' roads around here
Are you coming down to Orlando for the International Motorcycle Show in October?

I wasn't planning on that, but I was planning on making the "mama tried" thing at Barber, but I have been unable to find the actual dates. Can someone help me with that?

No problem man.
Just for show up with open exhaust or there may be a lynchin' ;) hahaha

I've heard the "open pipes are ruining America" argument before.
I've always been on the noizey side. Even with cars. Didn't really feel like I had to worry about such goobldgook on a Cafe' Racer board.
But, opinions are like ar$$holes. Everybody has at least one.

Great build for the $$!! And loud pipes sound sick! A buddy at work restores old Honda 4's and almost never runs mufflers in the pipes. My cb500 is almost impossible to be near inside the garage. And god almighty, when I have my C4 Vette, it sounded incredible when I chopped the mufflers and stomped on the gas. Have fun.

Come to Daytona during bike week. It's not just young people its the older harley riders as well. I think the older folks are worse then the young ones when it comes to open/straight pipes. Almost every harley has straight open pipes. While I agree they are obnoxious I wouldn't go to the extent you are.

people drive while drunk doesn't make it ok
there is no excuse period ,it is nothing but a childlike extreme form of selfish fuck you attitude to run open pipes
look for strict laws banning ANY exhaust mods because of the assholes running open pipes now

Think that last one hits it on the head - best way to get a nanny is to invite one in.

...........and a lot of them get tickets for various reasons, (display of 'speed', excess noise, etc) Bike Week and Biketoberfest are just excuses for local police to make money ::)
It was in one of the bike 'comics, few years ago ticket was issued for bike with excessive high handlebars, it hadn't even been removed from trailer.
I haven't been to Bike Week or Biketoberfest in years and probably won't bother to go any further than the track
Main Street is just a bad joke

2 pages in and you are STILL here whining about someone else's bike... ::)

I think everyone who care knows what your opinion on loud pipes is, can we discuss this bike?

Nice budget build, wish I'd have had a neighbor to help me when I was young, hell just wish I were still young.

I think xb33 is trolling this shit. As far as the bike, keep building and enjoying time with your son.

XB33 may be opinionated, but, too many people here get 'into' bikes because they saw it on TV and will probably get out of it just as quick
Many of 'us' have worked on, with and ridden bikes for many many years and get real pissed off by wannabee's who just 'don't get it' and don't care what 'havoc' they cause for the future
I've been riding long enough to have seen repressive legislation passed plus police harassment seen as 'normal'

This is all too true, but maybe he should start his own thread on it. This thread was supposed to be about a bike, not a philosophy lesson.

Looks like a fun bike. Good for you helping the kid out. Carry on.

Oh...and the Vette my buddy helped me with...we were running straight pipes on the LT1. That would be nuts.
