What's everybody's favorite flasher unit?

Slantyface

Been Around the Block
Went down to the ol' auto parts store and picked up an electronic flasher for the new LED turn signals I got. Didn't work out exactly as planned. They "flashed" sort of, but it was more like a dim pulsation. I know there are flashers that work with LED's but I ended up just putting in simple resistors to get the job done. Only bad thing is that they get hot. Like really hot. Anyways, just seeing what your all's take on this was?

We use these and they work great with LED signals.

The motogadget stuff looks pretty awesome. I've been eyeballing the M-Unit for quite sometime. Since my bike needs a complete rewire in the very near future, I think I'll have to break down and get it.

I use these on my cb750 for my LEDs

Tridon EP34. It has three prongs, one for each wire and one that you run to a new ground point. Easy install and works fantastically well with the LEDs I installed. $6 from Autozone.

Same here. There are three or four of them in my electronics drawer in case I forget which one to buy. :)

Get nickel and dimed on all parts, either on shipping to Canada or buying parts locally. Paid $40 for my ep34, jealous!

My favorite is whichever electronic one they have at the auto parts store I happen to be at.

END OF LINE

DX.com has ep34 including shipping for just over $2.00 if you're within the contiguous USA. I'll look for the link. Posted it in latest purchase thread a few weeks ago.

Can't find the ep34. Also found this one. Looks like it would mount easily with the rubber strap.

So these three old ladies were sitting on a park bench. A guy in a trench coat came up and flashed the. The first old lady had a stroke. The second old lady had a stroke. The third old lady couldn't reach it.

That is my favorite flasher joke. Oh shit... you said unit?

Hey thanks for all the replies everybody. I was down at the lake all weekend so I haven't had a chance to check out the options till now. Its strange. The one I bought was an "electronic" flasher. It has all kinds of electronicish doo-dads on the inside, but it doesn't do what I expected it to. Since I put the resistors in the replacement will flash like its supposed to, but what was the point? ya know? On a side note. Holy crap those resistors get hot. Enough to melt stuff. Like I picked one up after the flashers had been on for a couple minutes, and it actually burned and blistered my fingers... anyways thanks guys I'll check this stuff out

By the way. This one made me laugh. I'll have to tell this one to the guys at the shop.

One thing to note; if you purchase the NAPA version of the EP34 make sure you get the EP34L, L signifying LED, or it prolly ain't gonna work. Learned that the hard way.

Got an EP34 (not sure if its an "L" or not) from Advanced Auto, and all is well. Only bugga-boo was that it was three prong, and the factory flasher was 2. Simple enough fix with a tab connector, 6 inches of wire and an already conveniently placed frame bolt. Flashers...well, flash...
