Before I stole this from someone else, I parsed the expression. When you break it down into individual characters, it means different things. Like many of these Asian languages, they really don't directly translate "word for word". The context is important, as well as the way the symbols are combined. As an example, I work in the AC business and we use some Japanese machinery. We had a manual translated from the Japanese to english by a young woman who knew language but not HVAC. The word/character for hot and for cold is the same. The context is what determines the "temperature".
so, she had translations like this: when the Hot/Cold Water is too Hot/cold, the Hot/Cold alarm will go off. This particular translation was used for an area that could not go below 35 degrees, for another point that couldn't go over 220 degrees. So we went through the translation, looked at the point that was described (she had the actual numbers in the translation) and removed the offending Hot or Cold word.
So while the translation for the characters below my avatar spell a sentence, if I think about it, there is actually a paragraph in there.
