The front brakes have racing quality pads ! They were installed way back in video part 6: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=52954.msg600575#msg600575

All of the vids are on page one of this thread ...if you want to catch up on the sweet awesomeness of bad ass café racer building !

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

Have you thought of making badass Ichiban Moto T-shirts? I'd be in.

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

I'm kinda surprised you didn't use drywall screws for putting the float bowls on, their holding power is far better than those other "factory" screws with just the tiny little threads... I think that bowl may come off while riding and cost you horsepower!!

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

So you were. Very badass
Do you take backorders on these? I'd like one in a 2XL please

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

More brilliance, one word to describe this build is, Bad Ass!!!

I'm getting rid of my drill press and getting some braces and bits drills, why compromise?

Put me down for 2 T-shirts and 2 stickers, I want to join the Ichiban Moto club.

I wish I knew about the Kawi Busa when I bought my ZX-14 :(

Can I buy that bad ass cafe racer when you complete it? I'm thinking...5k? Seems like a fair price for such a custom build!

I have CL ads up "pre-selling" the build for $7,500 . That way the new owner can select their own paint color/graphics and upholstery before the bike is finished. If you have cash today, I'd be willing to offer it to you for $7,475

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

Ichi, would you throw in the workbench and metric adjustable wrench for that price?

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

I was tidying up the wiring on a build today and when I reached into a draw full of zip ties and saw green "high strength" zip ties, I thought of this thread. Put a smile on my face in a cold shop.

In fact that must be why the carb feed tubes were leaking - I did not use green zip ties there. that would have fixed things.

I would throw in the China standard adjustable, that's metric... and sure, I would be willing negotiate on the workbench of you bought the bike at full asking price ;D

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

Re: Ichiban Moto : Yamaha 500 cafe racer build

Where did you get that kit?
I'm pretty sure I need a few of them ;)
Look's like the throttle shaft end cap is missing in the carb your working on in vid?
You can get an air leak through there or grit could get in and cause throttle to stick
